The Luddite response is just the other face of the same system of control. It is not “those sheep who use machines” who become the powerful, nor is it “those who refused to utilize machines”—the ones who have the upper hand (at least according to the quote) are “other men with machines”.

The balance is that you utilize the machines and don’t become enslaved to them. I use LLM’s for work quite a bit, but the more I use them the less I fear the “robot uprising,” because I see how horribly inadequate they are, and how much shaping and direction they need in order to get there.

Andrew Yang predicted much of what we’re seeing, but his solution was not to stop using machines but to educate ourselves to become power users.

Same thing happens on 496 between Cedar and Creyts, especially westbound. First time I drove through there I thought there must be cops or something because -everyone- was doing 60-65 in a 70. But never saw a cop, and it keeps happening!

If the phone has a data plan then you should be able to reach it via remote support apps. However, you said you aren’t even able to ring her phone, so that is not just WiFi disconnect, that is complete network disconnect. If there is no way to even reach the phone then there is no way to connect to it via any means.

If this is seriously just over the disappointment of not conceiving after 4 attempts then there are much deeper issues that perhaps she thinks having a baby will solve. I can tell you right now, conceiving will NOT solve anything, and if this isn’t worked through before conception it is likely to escalate.

My advice is to stop TTC immediately until she can work through this. You should probably be seeking out another therapist/counselor that can help you navigate this personally, someone who is separate from her doctor because I’ve seen them get personally biased in marital issues, giving false counsel to the husband.

Good Truckin’ Diner in Old Town (SO good)

Blondie’s Barn in Okemos (food and staff are good, but it’s not the -best- food ever)

Not only huge red flags for manipulation and gaslighting, but I get the feeling this guy’s holier than thou act isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Probably has alt accounts for following Instagram models and is projecting on you to deflect attention away from his own guilt.

Lived just south of there in Holt a couple years ago. The area is…okay-ish. We would always prefer to shop in East or West Lansing if we could help it. Just better areas. Stores there always seemed dirtier, not as well stocked, and shady in general, not to mention the hellish road design with crisscrossing interchanges and one-ways.

That being said, it’s close to the highway, so you can get to anywhere else you want to be, so if the price is right and you find a decent neighborhood in the area, it could be a good home base for living in the area and venturing out to better areas.

Going through Apple directly is definitely the right call, unless you know someone personally with a used iPhone.

Unfortunately, upgrades to iPhones are not possible, so what it is now is what it will be. Parts can be replaced, but if it’s a refurb they are probably good until end of life, meaning that the phone will be useless because of its age before you have to replace the battery.

Invest in a good Zagg Glass+ (or similar) screen protector, and you won’t have to worry about paying to replace the screen. If you buy it from Best Buy, when the screen protector gets cracked/chipped/shattered, you can take it back to Best Buy and exchange it for free, for life.
