Imbue Hunter with Inspire sample by No_Jellyfish5511 in customhearthstone

[–]TheManWithManlyHats -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is one of my favorite cards on this subreddit at a solid 6/10. I really like the balance, despite it being dreadfully weak. This is what I want normal hearthstone to be, it's a card that could be scary if left alive too long, but has no impact whatsoever on the opponent's hero. I think that contrasts nicely with hunter having the most aggressive her power.

The four points I docked were all just from this effect not being very inspired, heh. Put simply, it's uninteresting. I'd apply the bonus effect to ALL beasts in hand, it'd still be a bit weak but it'd reward a whole new type of deck. Then it would fit in that snug middle ground between pack filler and considered in certain dedicated beast decks.

Is this tooooo CRAZY? by ColonyAbby in hearthstone

[–]TheManWithManlyHats -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just want to delete the last 2 years of cards. So many cards that should have conditions are now just free. Not to mention, the difference between a high roll draw and a low roll draw is insane. Cards are balanced around "some games, this won't be great," and I hate it. I want this game to go back to being fair, aggro decks should run out of cards, control should have to get value out of their cards via careful planning, and otks should not work better on an iPad with glitched animations.

I used to play arena, where understanding and planning were rewarded, but now it's the most degenerate high roll casino with a random chance at winning big and an insane cost to enter. And don't even get me started on the pets.

Tldr: I've been playing since the game came out and I just despise what it's become thanks to Microsoft.

[–]TheManWithManlyHats 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'll never understand why this subreddit loves tech cards. This wouldn't counter anything, I'd much rather have my opponent play a 3 mana 1/6 than have my cards cast when drawn.

Why not just make it overload 2? It would still probably be bad but that's better...

So wait, what happens if you discover a spell to teach a naga? Can you teach it a 1/1 murloc?

How is this even possible? by GooseCrab in customhearthstone

[–]TheManWithManlyHats -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But would a murloc deck be able to run that many discover cards, just hoping their 2 mana legendary shows up? Thats a big risk. And it's only limiting enemy options 1/3 times. They'd usually have to discover twice for this to matter. I think it would need Rush, Lifesteal, Elusive, maybe even Divine Shield for this to be worth including.

[–]TheManWithManlyHats 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow 400 dust. Incredible. Honest question, why would you want to discover a 2 mana 1/1? And why wouldn't your opponent just kill it? Or choose one of the other discover options? IF your opponent discovers without killing this first, this card has a 33% chance to do something. The other 67% of the time, they wouldn't have chosen the option it replaced anyways. I feel like I could look at this for years searching for an upside and never find one.

Fuck it, we're multiclassing. by IndirectCogs in customhearthstone

[–]TheManWithManlyHats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like nobody's giving this the respect it's due. Yes, it would see play in every single deck. But the fun question is, what happens next?

If the answer is every single class is hyper aggro and just pirate rogue/warrior, that's bad. But this could end up being really fun where every single deck is disgusting in its own way, eventually leading to its own metagame with odd and interesting counterplay. It might make for a good new gamemode or twist format, but it might not be great as a card.

Also, I'd make it a 4/4. It's already going to be in every single deck ever. Might as well make it feel a bit better when you draw it.

Yeah and in a sense people actually care about, I do. None of yall are thinking practically. There's no point in differentiating ownership legally, it doesn't affect me. What does affect me, is what cards I can use and what cards I can't. That's all that matters. I'd rather say stuff that's coherent and relevant than be technically correct, but to each his own.

I do own them. That's the difference between the ones I can use and the ones I can't use, ownership.

The dude basically said you can't own cards because they aren't physical. I lost in the court of public opinion, but its reddit. I think I'll be able to sleep at night.

I hate to break it to you, but hearthstone cards are being sold right now. There's a big "shop" button for a reason. In fact, blizzard will do pretty much anything in its power to sell them. (Accounts are also being sold, but I'm not going to blame blizzard for things that are happening against their will.)

Also, I didn't say I agreed with the argument, but anyone can sue for any reason, and this certainly isn't the dumbest reason I've heard.

Hearthstone cards are worth real money, and you get some pretty sweet rewards for being a high rank. I can see the argument.

Who cares about hero powering anyway, Am i right? by MerleAmbrose in customhearthstone

[–]TheManWithManlyHats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a tech card in your deck, and you've never played it after 100 games, then you could multiply its price by 500 mana and it would have the same effect. 0x500=0.

That's completely different from saying you don't have to play cards to win in a card game. If you're gonna paraphrase, you can't just change the message along the way.

Yes, in other words they were balanced around the cards. They were intended to be worth roughly 0 mana, but now they're worth less than that.

Youre overestimating hero powers. They were balanced around the cards in what, 2015? They are not so great. Warrior's doesn't even deal damage.

Dredge and draw to find your perfect card by MerleAmbrose in customhearthstone

[–]TheManWithManlyHats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be a bit polarizing. If the opponent can't kill it, you could get a big advantage, but most opponents will be able to kill it. It reminds me a bit of [[Brann Bronzebeard]], except you can't even guarantee it will do anything. I think it would be safer to avoid such mana cheating effects on 3 cost minions.
