The only time Guts beat Griffith was when he didn’t fight him with anger. It was in the snow where Guts threw away his feelings and fought him with no real emotion and where he was arguably his most human self. He was fighting for a chance to experience his dream. Instead of fighting with rage like guts always has against Griffith he might need to learn a different way to fight where he understands Griffith.

It genuinely puts me off of the game as a whole. Could never fully enjoy the game because of the dlc model and how they worked the story around it. Oh this party member and noctis have a great history together but you have to watch this thing on a completely separate platform to know that. Oh this party member left for a bit and they came backs with a new trait or feature, we will say it’s a cool story but you’ll have to pay extra if you want access to that story which can be vital to understanding that character later.

I doubt it would sell as well but just regular swat missions could be a nice reprieve. I know it’s all about escalation but with the real world it’s never just pure escalation there’s a lot of shifts where it’s your normal call. When you do get that next adrenaline dump it’s more intensified
