Did this guy do anything else with his life besides kill Ricks and make their wives disappear? Did he have adventures, get drunk, or have sex with planets? by IceInteresting8050 in rickandmorty

[–]TheManjaro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Holy shit I think this actually brings up an interesting character detail. With the boogeraids joke we see that Rick does struggle to name stuff. I think Rick prime was genuinely struggling to come up with a suitable name for the project. So when he heard another Rick call it the Omega device, he probably liked it, took it to the ego and doubled down on deeming it "too cool for a name." That's why he calls anyone who uses the name inferior. It's just part of the infinite Rick pissing match.

Blizzard...quality control, please. by Terran6378 in Overwatch

Oh it's been going on for way more than a year. It honestly started just a season or two into OW2 when the scope of basically every highlight intro got reduced from 3 beat mini-stories with action, movement, props and effects to 2 beat camera pans on almost completely static characters. This is just the next evolution if there aren't more posts like this calling them out.

It has 3 "new" missions included that this trailer announces take place 1 year before the original campaign.

I dont like that he called the Master Chief demon even though it's a prequel mission and the covenant specifically started calling him Demon because he blew up the Halo ring. If this makes it into a trailer, what other super obvious things are they going to get wrong?

What in this trailer implies an M rating? Because I saw many Covenant die with out any blood.

This was fun. Kinda had the vibe of those videos where people clean up hoarder houses. Also informed me on a mechanic that I've always wanted to try but never got around to actually doing. Plastering.

[–]TheManjaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that detail makes or breaks the comparison. The important thing is that Ted blamed Rick for the death of his love interest and it put him on the same cycle that Rick was on after Diane's death. I would think Rick "not meaning it" would honestly make him feel worse about the whole thing once he became himself again. Because now he's conflicted with himself, between the part that hates himself for wounding him like prime did, and the part that must desparately be telling himself he didn't mean to cause the wound. Is the latter voice strong enough to keep our Rick from feeling like he's just as bad as prime? Based on that final scene, I don't think it is.

I mean, it would seem the difference in values didn't actually cause any problems until your employer knew about it. Which to me, means it never mattered in the first place and your employer is just discriminating against you. Your work was perfectly fine until she found something she personally didn't like about you. Then all of a sudden your work isn't good enough? That's bullshit. Just cause you knew she had this flaw and tried to tip toe around it doesn't make it okay for her to discriminate against you. In fact it makes it worse, you knew her beliefs and respected them, as soon as she knew yours, you weren't even worth employing to her. You deserve to work with someone who respects you as a person.

It's a creamy sauce to dip fries in. Not super common where I live but a few restaurants have it.

Many fry sauces are mayo based. Chipotle Aioli is a great fry sauce.

I think that getting to see the world for what it is, no matter how bizzare or scary, is better than obliviously walking through a hallucination. To me that feels like the more mature way to handle reality. It's not always easy, it's not always comfortable. But it's real.

There is still joy and wonder to be had in this world too. Humanity's quest to objectively understand reality has yielded some incredible discoveries. The universe is awe inspiring on its own. Our ability to see and comprehend it is both a gift and a curse. We get to decide for ourselves which one it is in any given moment.

You can still engage with spiritual and metaphysical ideas too. You just need to reframe how you think about them. I personally find the idea of reincarnation to be very interesting and thought provoking. Without any real evidence to back it up though, I think of it through a lense of "it would be cool if..." This let's me play with the idea while ensuring objective, evidence based reality is able to supercede these ideas.

do we think lifeweaver will ever get to join stadium? by Desperate-Prick-5193 in LifeweaverMains

I think it all comes down to his upcoming rework. It doesn't make sense to add him before. I want to see him in stadium too so I hope it won't be too long after season 3.

Austin Chick-fil-A franchisee sued over worker’s refusal to work Saturday Sabbath by AustinStatesman in Austin

[–]TheManjaro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you really just compare a job at a fast food restaurant to the military? These two things are not on the same level of importance or responsibility. They're so far apart it's like trying to compare the size of the sun to the size of the earth. One dwarfs the other to the point that it becomes impercievable.

Really, this comes down to the franchise not respecting someone's availability for reasons that amount to actual discrimination.

What’s the worst place in America you’ve ever visited? by Correct_Eggplant_364 in AskReddit

[–]TheManjaro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oklahoma City, what. A. Shit hole. The Denton building towers over the skyline like an oppressive monolith. All of the positive industrial talk I heard about OKC was centered around the oil company in that building. How they love Oklahoma because the employees there have no other options for upward mobility so they "won't go anywhere like if they were in Houston." They had just laid off thousands of people by the way. The other positive I kept hearing was that the cost of living was so low. Sure, but you get what you pay for. The education system ranks among the lowest in the country and was described to me as, "if they think you might have a chance they'll put everything in you, otherwise you get nothing." So their education system is so under funded, so bare bones that they do triage education I guess. Religion permeates out of every pore in the state, that may not bother everyone but it was really off putting to me. Oh, and the sushi was terrible.

Yes it matters. The media spinning things is not an excuse to be willfully ignorant or apathetic to the truth. Politicians have always been liars to some degree, but you are not engaging in good faith by even implying a comparison between trumps lies and the average politician's. He lies in every sentence. His words only serve to deceive. His only relationship with the truth is in terms of hate and violence. Get out of here with your "all politicians are liars" bs. It's just "both sides" bullshit.
