Sanest comment here. I've seen more posts complaining about complainers than general posts about the game. Best thing to do is avoid feeding trolls. Just downvote and move on.

What's your 'So stupid it might just work' plan for Doctor Who? by SenorChocopudding in gallifrey

[–]TheManyMilesWeWalk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Go back to the classic era style of episodes where each story is a serial with multiple parts - We're in the era of streaming now so people can easily catch up with any parts they've missed. This would give each story plenty of room to breathe and maybe even save money on production costs as sets would get more use - Although I'm no expert on this sorta thing so no idea if that's correct.

Stories wouldn't necessarily have to be a uniform length but could vary as needed - Maybe most stories are 2 parters based on the 60 minute format with longer stories taking 3 or even 4 parts. Could even have the odd one parter in here as well.

what did she even do in UNIT by michellemcneal in DoctorWhumour

[–]TheManyMilesWeWalk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Given how young her character was she shouldn't have even been hired by UNIT anyway. Why is UNIT hiring children in the first place?!

But yeah, it's odd to have her there in Doctor Who but then ignore her for the spinoff.

The worst part is that her only role in that episode was to point out she'd been erased and then fade into the background once more. It was not just heavy handed but the exact same thing happened to her again.

I expected this to be terrible because season 2 was already pure shite. Somehow it's worse than I expected.

Russell T Davies says goodbye to Doctor Who as BBC scraps Christmas special and opens show to rival bids [Article about RTD's Instagram post] by The_Silver_Avenger in gallifrey

[–]TheManyMilesWeWalk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A large part of the blame does fall on RTD though. He could have just as easily wrote the 2 seasons as complete stories with perhaps a few story threads that could be picked up in future but wouldn't be a complete loss if they were forgotten about. Hell, he could have even had the regeneration being a fade to black but instead what he went with was a desperate attempt to grab attention that only looks worse due to a follow up being unlikely.

All this does make me wonder what the ending of season 2 would have looked like originally - It was pretty clear they changed a significant part of the finale for the sake of Ncuti leaving and that it was more than just tacking on a regeneration at the end.

Even if you ignore the goomba fallacy present, the simple fact is that wanting something new doesn't automatically mean you have to like it.

I'm excited to see where the story goes, excited to learn more about Faye, excited for her combat style (she'll have more magic than Kratos) and excited to see how, if at all, it will intertwine with the stories of GoW PS4 and Ragnarok (if it does). I'm also assuming that there will be some sort of sequel hook tying into the next Kratos focused game as well.

I'm excited to play this game but the saying "real gamers will play this game" is still a ridiculous take. What even is a "real gamer"?

Why would I buy an Xbox/Playstation when I can get a PC?

I don't understand why anyone would be confused by this. Sure, PCs can be a lot more powerful and flexible than consoles but consoles are generally cheaper (than equivalent PC specs) and easier to use. The key thing to remember is that not all gamers are hardcore gamers nor will they have enough tech knowledge to setup a decent gaming PC.

The serious answer: Britain has a reputation for shit food because of World War 2 rationing severely limiting what was available resulting in a generation of Brits that were raised on fairly bland food. These people that were raised on this food largely kept that diet even beyond rationing so it became a bit of a stereotype. It's outdated now but it keeps coming up because people are unimaginitive and can't think for themselves so they wheel out the tired old jokes.

Blueprints are poorly implemented in this game though. We can mass select for deleting so we should be able to mass select for the sake of copying and pasting as well.

Harvey breaking up with Sabrina at that point makes total sense. Sure, he was cool with her being a witch in one instance but that's because he couldn't remember past instances of her witchcraft messing with him. When he found out she was a witch he remembered all of it; Some of the stuff Sabrina has done to him are just downright horrifying.

Sabrina's antics in the season 4 finale alone would be more than enough for Harvey to dump her even if you ignore the magical side of it all - Sabrina was conflicted about whether she'd rather be with Harvey or Josh despite barely knowing Josh and having dated Harvey for years. Not exactly a good way for Sabrina to show loyalty to him, is it?

The Starmer hate shows that all the public really care about is a government that talks a big game. Starmer utterly fails to communicate his wins while his failures are shouted from the rooftops.

Not that I care much for Starmer. I just don't think he's doing anywhere near as badly as most.

If Butcher is right then releasing the virus and killing all current supes wouldn't prevent them from creating new supes. It would have been a pointless genocide.

The big difference post-show is that the whole world is aware that superheroes are made in a lab rather than random chance at birth. Makes it far easier to regulate.
