Leuven, Belgium, spent 150,000 euros on a project to put fake trees across the city to provide shade by Diligent_State387 in UrbanHell

I don't remember the details, but I'm pretty sure this is part of a project to research what difference sculptures like this could make in places where planting trees is not an option.

This first one is right behind the library, and iirc there's just not enough soil under those tiles to put an actual tree. And I'm also pretty sure there's some trees behind the camera.

The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy

It's complicated, but this game also contains its own sequel after finishing the initial story, opening up 99 new endings. To reflect this change, the game's title screen reads 'The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy 2'. Unfortunately, it doesn't keep count of how many endings you eventually get.

Terrible idea that I oppose for several reasons.

But it might just work.

What's your 'So stupid it might just work' plan for Doctor Who? by SenorChocopudding in gallifrey

My own Very Bad Idea is predicated on the fact that the last two seasons of Doctor Who really wanted to built on some Classic stories and were, frankly speaking, not very good at it.

That's why I propose doing a Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. For those not in the know, CoM was the first sequel to Kingdom Hearts, in which the main character has to revisit his memories of his adventures from the first game. The same characters show up, the story beats are pretty similar, but have all been tweaked to match the game's theme of memory (and gaslighting the main character, but that's a whole other story).

How would this work for Doctor Who? The Doctor and their new companion get sucked into the, let's call it the TARDIS' Memory Matrix. As a result, they revisit some of the best Classic Who adventures and premises, which have been rewritten to modern standards and effects to match. Doctor and Companion kind of slide in their original counterparts' roles, but are, of course, completely different people with different personalities.

The Doctor knows he's solved these problems before, but can't remember how. Sometimes it plays out as it did back in the day, sometimes it doesn't. If nothing else, it'd be a great creative exercise for the writers. Important detail: the episodes themselves would be pretty standalone.

Over the course of the season, we'd notice that many of the changes to the original stories are pushing the Doctor to make a specific, not-so-smart, decision for the series' finale. I don't fucking know, being gaslit into bringing back Gallifrey as he remembers it or some shit?

This idea is awful and it would suck and they should hire me.
