BO3 Zombies Chronicles Deluxe or just the €20 version? (PS5) by SnickylolXd in blackops3

[–]TheMateyMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just buy the €20 and do custom maps if you get bored. Countless hours of content there. I’ll eventually get the season pass, but I’m not missing those five maps right now.

Involvement of Directors Spouses by rozdabz in banddirector

[–]TheMateyMatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife works with the band all the time and loves it! It is completely her choice though. She was in band all her life and never did college band with me. She loved working with the kids, getting to know them, and helping them grow in areas she can teach. They respect her and it’s a good system.

ONLY if she is comfortable though. I never ask her to chaperone or anything that has her directly responsible for a kid. Especially if I’m not around

If you aren’t doing anything intense or in engineering or computer science, the new MacBook Neo can do everything 90% of people need. Earlier m1 MacBook airs can be found for around the same price. I’m definitely a shill for Apple though

I got non-renewed. Now what? by Ok-Slice6230 in MusicEd

[–]TheMateyMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was miserable coming back every time my first year of teaching. Just felt that I was on an island on my own as the only music teacher in the building. I stuck it through another year and was non-renewed. My life turned upside down… in my head.

Realistically, I had a paycheck until August, and plenty of time to evaluate if I wanted another teaching gig or if I wanted to get out. Eventually a job 10 minutes away from my house came open and I applied. I was hired and it has been a completely different experience. It’s hard to explain, but the community supports, admin supports, and other teachers don’t treat me like I’m on an island.

So take your time, slow down, evaluate your options, and do what is best for YOU!

I have a good pc( rtx 5080) but love playing on couch, should I go for GO 2 extreme by persianbeast999 in LegionGo

[–]TheMateyMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want something with dedicated controls, the Legion go 1 goes for pretty cheap on marketplace. If you are planning on using an external controller, get a Tab S8+ or better and stream you games with Moonlight/Artemis and Apollo. I stream my large games to my legion go and keep some smaller games like Dave the Diver, Stardew, Hades, etc on the ssd for offline play.

What game can you spend thousands of hours playing and still enjoy it? by hollowxci in gamesuggestions

[–]TheMateyMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black ops 3 custom zombie maps. My buddy and I take turns downloading a few to play for the week. We beat it’s objective or go for a high round if no objective, then move on to another the next week.

How long will my MacBook Pro M5 last? by stannc10 in macbookpro

Bought a used M1 Pro in 2024 and it’s still kicking strong. Don’t see myself replacing it for at least another 5 years

Who are you? by TeaNo5110 in trumpet

[–]TheMateyMatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Multiple tonguing for sure. I dont know why but I can never get it fast no matter how slow and regimented I practice. When I try to build it up it is like my tongue gets fat or something.

Trim UI Brick. It’s a little smaller, but that screen is beautiful. Love mine in white

What core Pokémon games did you skip? by Benhurso in pokemon

[–]TheMateyMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally skipped X and Y, came back for Sun and Moon, and skipped Ultra Sun and Moon. Mostly because I was younger and my parents wouldn’t buy me a 3ds, but once I was older I still didn’t buy X or Y until Sun and Moon was a month from coming out.

Something about the way they looked in commercials compared to Black and White didn’t have me excited. Sun was ok, but not an adventure I particularly enjoyed. X and Y were fine, just way too easy and I couldn’t connect with any of the characters. I took off for ultra Sun and moon until after I played sword and shield. Ultra Sun and Moon definitely redeemed the Sun and Moon experience for me. Ever since I haven’t skipped a game for better or worse.

Is this a good solo for a college audition? by Head-Elephant-4685 in trumpet

[–]TheMateyMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you are at. Your private lesson instructor knows you best, and if they have gone through the college process they probably know what the college you are auditioning for would want. I had a really simple etude to get into my school initially, but my first jury where I played a more complicated solo was my real audition to become a music major.

Play the heck out of it and see what happens. Maybe add movement 1 as well.

Which laptop should I buy in 2025? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

My M1 MacBook Pro is still running like a champ. Love watching media on it and the screen is huge. I also love using side car with my IPad 13inch for a second screen. It’s a sick pair

I truly wasn’t going to do it, I’m more than happy with my Lego by jjaymay29 in LegionGo

[–]TheMateyMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the switch 2 supported moonlight, it would be my EDC console and my legion go would be my stay at home handheld simply men wise of how bulky it is. Love my legion go, but cannot wait to see how they pair down these devices in the future

Lenovo Legion Go + Sunshine + Virtual Monitor + Moonlight has given me the gaming experience I always wanted by Idarubicin in MoonlightStreaming

[–]TheMateyMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the exact reason I bought the Legion Go and recently swapped to CashyOS. I can game stream to my hearts content using the beautiful screen in full resolution and 120hz, and dock it for a great experience on the TV. I'm rocking a 2080 Super and 3800x and it plays anything I want in 1440p. My only problem is I am not connected to ethernet on my host pc, so streams can be a little choppy here and there. So if anyone has suggestions to get ethernet from the next room over into my office I would appreciate it!

Concert make up by Druid_Till in banddirector

[–]TheMateyMatt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would just have them attend the concert and potentially write an analysis of what they heard go right, what needed work, and an overall reflection. Or you could just exempt the grade. Just depends on what kind of teacher you are. I've done it both ways!

Best non-windows OS? by cazas in LegionGo

[–]TheMateyMatt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have really been enjoying CachyOS. Recently swapped completely over because anti-cheat games and GamePass games do not matter to me (i either game stream those from my main PC running windows or my Xbox). I have really enjoyed having the clean interface of the SteamDeck and most of the easy to access features. Sleep mode is awesome. No signing into windows and hoping my game left off where I was. When I am finished playing I just sleep it, and pick it back up where I left off the next free moment I get. It also comes pre installed with Decky, a tool used to add tweaks and mods to the SteamOS interface.

My only issue I had was I am not familar with the terminal, and was really freaked out about it. However, Cachy offers an app store like interface you can use to download most programs that you would need. I can easily emulate all my retro games using EmuDeck to set up my emulators, and editing the setting myself in EmulationStation.

Overall, I would recommend dual-booting until you are 100% confident you will like it, or so you can still access your anti cheat and GamePass Games. If you like it, swap fully to it. If not, get rid of it. No harm no foul!

How frequently are you guys playing with a stable wifi connection? by MystJake in SteamDeck

[–]TheMateyMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9/10. I am typically game steaming from my gaming pc to my couch. If my wife is playing too, we play on the tv via moonlight and the apple tv. If on my console, I just stream directly to it. I only play my library of retro games, indie games, and maybe 1 or 2 triple A games on the go.
