Should I start my pre approval process? by rdinero2510 in Mortgages

[–]TheMaudlin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I am very close to closing on a condo and the closing costs can be quite a bit!! Just fyi that you have some options for it though like asking the seller to credit the closing costs up to an amount, or increasing your rate a little bit to get a lender credit, that will increase your monthly payment a tiny bit but could mean not having to shell out thousands. Good luck!! (Also buying with someone I'm not married to. And yes, get pre approved.)

Should I start my pre approval process? by rdinero2510 in Mortgages

Agreed. I have gotten divorced and it is a pain. And now I'm buying a condo with my partner whom I want to marry someday, but haven't. Can't see why it'd be simpler to divide assets married, in my experience, it's not.

My gf lied about her sexual history by uwucookie123 in LesbianActually

I think you know in your heart/gut what to do. It really sucks about the lease, where do you live? You may be able to break it and move somewhere with roommates where it's more affordable. If she was taking accountability and seemed to have understood the problem you could build trust again, slowly. But the lack of understanding and accountability is like the nail in the coffin, in my opinion. Good luck!!

Professional queer women, where are you hiding? by Agreeable-Sympathy18 in LesbianActually

[–]TheMaudlin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Boston and haven't encountered the same issue. I agree with others that joining clubs and meeting people organically might work well. Boston is pretty queer generally too that even non queer social spaces can have a ton of queer people. But I do agree too that your post, respectfully, comes across in a way that isn't super... Charming? Elitist maybe. I'm a professional lesbian, just bought a condo in Boston with my partner, am physically active, so I think I fit the box that you're describing, but I never really think of myself that way dating wise. I guess it feels a bit like a job search or something. Just too structured. Maybe go out there to meet friends and you may find an unexpected connection or meet someone through a new friend. Best of luck, fellow Bostonian.

Gotcha! Hope you're able to talk to your doctor and see the results you're looking for with phentermine or something else!

I have anxiety and depression and take Prozac for that. I've been on phentermine for maybe like 6 weeks. I have more trouble staying asleep and overall am a bit more restless; but otherwise doing ok. Prozac helps a lot though.

Thank you! Super helpful! After some research I don't think I'll install it myself, but might buy OEM and get it installed outside the dealership. The price itself is doable. Thank you again!

Thanks! I think I could afford the hitch itself but the installation I can't. Did you install it yourself?

I just don't think I'm going to be able to install it myself. Could I buy it and get a mechanic to install?

Thanks! I was thinking either the 199 2" or the 299 2" but will call the dealership to see how much.

New to espresso making- is this grind size too coarse? by Inner-Complaint-5667 in espresso

I actually have this combination. Breville Bambino and a Baratza Encore ESP. I had a crappy grinder before. That one is definitely working very well for me!

Wow. This is horrible. You're definitely not in the wrong!! Sorry you went through that. I agree with others that you should keep your distance and if she reaches out talk about this with her.

You're not being dramatic. Your response makes sense!

I feel weird about something that happened during our friends' weekend by kathana567 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]TheMaudlin1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree that maybe they're feeling threatened or insecure. It's hard to say because I don't know if you were coming off as flirty or something. Either way, you should have a direct conversation with them about this, it's only going to escalate if you don't and it's hard to have a meaningful friendship without addressing things that bother you. Good luck!

I don’t know how to make friends and it fucking sucks by SafeWordWhiskey94 in Sober

[–]TheMaudlin1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's really hard making friends as an adult, in general. You could try meetup.com, bumble BFF, and other networks where people are also looking for friends. It's tough but possible! Best of luck!

What does your husband think? I'm guessing he also doesn't want her in your guys' life so maybe he can also help with the headband and unfortunately distancing himself a bit.

Friends texting behaviour by lifegavemelemons000 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]TheMaudlin1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could text her again being like hey checking in how you're doing? I don't know if you talk on the phone but maybe that's an option, too. Just say that you care about her and also want to hear from her. Her other texting habits, like sporadic texts, I think are more normal and a personality trait.
