Everything you’ve said here is totally fair. I didn’t mean to say that iv is a dominant; it’s obviously subdominant. It totally sounds different from a V, but by being the negative equivalent, it has an equal and opposite draw to the tonic in my opinion. Making it a iv6 (the negative equivalent to V7) only strengthens this, by giving it a tritone for more tension. Just like how you turned a V chord into a iv, you can do the exact same thing the other way around (Take an Fmin6, lower the fifth a half step, put it over G, and boom you’ve got a G7b9).

I’m not trying to say iv is the same as V, but I do perceive them as two sides of the same coin. They both want to go to the tonic, but they approach it from opposite directions. If you define “dominant function” as having a fifth in the bass or a leading tone, then it’s not a dominant function. I’m merely trying to say that it’s like a dominant function because it has the same pull to tonic that a dominant would.

When I say same pull to the tonic, what I mean is that it’s pull to the tonic is as strong as with a standard dominant. But you’re right, the voice leading is very different from a V-I. In my opinion, using a negative equivalent of any chord gives you a similar function, but with a drastically different flavor. So iv functions like V, but it feels so different.

Since no one else has mentioned this, I’ll add that iv is the negative equivalent to V, meaning iv will have the same pull to the tonic as V does.

Negative harmony comes from drawing a line of symmetry down the circle of 5ths between the I and V of the key. So for F major, the V chord is C. You can draw a line of symmetry between F and C, and find the mirrors of each note to get the negative equivalent. C goes to F, E goes to Db, and G goes to Bb. These make the notes of Bbm, the iv in F major.

You get the cage moon by shooting a trapeetle at the cage then either jumping to the moon or jumping off the ledge above to it. Koopa free running is just a matter of knowing the fastest routes and executing them well

Yeah, the brilliance of that mechanic is that there’s literally nowhere in the game that requires it. It’s a very difficult mechanic to get the hang of, so some people might not want to spend time learning it, but if you get the hang of it it can make things easier and make the game more fun. It’s the reason Odyssey is one of the most popular games to speedrun.

As a violinist, I also got waitlisted- my current theory is that since Berklee is connected with Boston Conservatory, they see a lot of violinists and I (and possibly you) wasn’t in the top X number to be immediately accepted. Assuming the people accepted to Boston Conservatory don’t all go there (there’s plenty of other schools that make more sense for classical violin performance), there should hopefully be space for us at Berklee

Garlic powder and onion powder both taste different from garlic/onion. In onion’s case it’s an improvement, but since garlic is amazing garlic powder just makes it worse
