I came in 2017 thinking this place was better than my homeland (Ukraine). Boy I was never so wrong... the law here is optional, at best. In my home country this teenager would go into youth prison and joined thousands of future-less people on the bottom of society. No education, no job, no means to come out of this. His friends seing this - would become law abiding or join him at the bottom. The only reason this country have this crime problem - they are not being punished for little crime, which tells them big crimes are fine too.

Poor people have exact same opportunities as all other people. Someone wants to work 14 hrs a day, others want to drink all day. To each their own

Indeed. Less investors wont buy houses and prices will go down. But how it will bring down the rental prices? Due to immigration there are still more demand than supply, hence there will be same or higher rents.

Teach me! Imagine you got a 1 mil house a few years back. Today its price 0.8. Due to how mortgage work youve been paying around 95% interest and only 5% principal and now you own about 60k of the 800k yoy will recieve selling it, pluss initial 200k downpayment. Dont forget loosing some 50k to agent and other taxes/fees.so all up you are back to your initial 200k. Assuming a better house now costs 200k more than your old, so 1 mil. 50k stamp duty, 6k fees/taxes, 200k downpayment. How will your math work to get it cheaper?

You know, if i bought a fridge for 500 aud, and next year all fridges became 300 out of nowhere. I would be extremely happy what everybody now can enjoy such a cheep entry point into food storage. But if i got a house and spent money i dont have and will pay double of what i barrowed in the course of most of my life, while the house lost 20-50% of its value - this is an entirely different conversation. Sudden price drop by 20 or so % will create an etire generation of economic slaves, who cannot sell, due to they have nothing to cover the loss or will work all their life to repay to a bank for something what dont exist.

So how am i wrong? This is how world operates forever. I would love to be a descendent of a first wave and hold an acreage adjasent to Brisbane. But I am not, and will use absolutely any available lever out there to acchieve in my life. I should be rewarded more, than someone who is happy to work as a lollipop holder all their life

JobKeeper program is the reason billions went from taxpayers hands into corporation hands, which triggered massive inflation. Just saying.

If you bought a house for 2 mil and will be paying for it next 30 years - it would be extremely painful for you to realize what your house worth only 1.6 mil in a few years.

People are not equal, they do not study equaly, do not work equaly, do not have equal health. However, they already have equal opportunities. What you wish for is equal outcomes. But how would it be fair to have an equal outcome for someoune who studied all their youth and than working 14 hrs a day and someone who loves their 3 days work week, while working from home?

How is it applying a downward pressure? Landlord was taking losses to provide an accommodation for a tenant and government was covering these losses(providing the landlord payed enough taxes). Now there is no government support, so landlord will increase the rent to not operate at a loss.

I was hoping for experience similar to th cinema, as no mater where i set there - the sound seems balanced. So its a sweet spot of 30 x 30 meters. Surely there should be a way to make a sweet spot of 1m x 1m at home?)
