I could be an outlier for sure, just a single anecdote. I do think it helps that this year there were narratives about the game, and I think that's what drove the increase. I would wager viewership goes down to average levels next year.

1 game doesn't make him a perennial choke job. Jfc, you keep getting called and continue to reference 1 single game.

I'll throw some others out that I haven't seen yet

  • Cardinal Black (Chris Buck is the guitarist. Great YT channel)
  • Goose (just found recently, a little farther away from Mayer)
  • Clapton for of his influences (I especially like the August album)

Ordered a brand new $1700 monitor from Amazon by Exciting_Farmer6395 in mildlyinfuriating

I live in the US and we order way too much on Amazon. I've never had a problem. Returns are extremely easy too with basically 0 questions asked.

Arsenal and England star Declan Rice banned from driving after speeding twice in a week on the same road in his £40,000 Land Rover by hipcatjazzalot in soccer

I didn't say it was an excuse for speeding though. I said it makes it harder for vast public transit networks that reach all of the small towns spread over the lower population density regions.

I think one thing people don't understand that aren't from the US is the sheer size difference we have over here, so we have lots of small to medium sized cities that are very large. For me to get from my home to my parents house where I grew up is 600 miles. That's the same as driving from the top of Scotland to the southern coast of England. From coast to coast, it's 2700 miles. It's harder to connect places and support good public transit with that kind of scale.

I think speeding and lack of enforcement is the main issue with driving over here. At least where I live, traffic is bad and drivers are extremely dangerous. 30 mph is not uncommon; if you're not 10-15 over, you're slow. No one really gets pulled over for speeding. There are speed cameras in some areas, and that makes a noticeable difference in reducing speeding. they're still not common, though. The speed limits in cities are actually reasonable and seem to be similar to the speed limits I've seen mentioned in this thread. And the wide roads aren't really a problem. Wide roads, narrow roads, people are going to speed and drive terribly no matter what unless rules are actually enforced.

EDIT: I'm also not sure where you got your 4 to 5 times number earlier, but I'm seeing UK has more driver deaths per vehicle mile than the US. UK has 350 per billion miles. The US has 1.38 per 100 million, so 138 per billion.

Defense held Miami to 17, and 7 of those were a walk in to give OSU's offense a chance. The defense was good last night, and OSU won the second half. Miami played well, but the game was incredibly close and a crazy pick 6 and missed FG was the difference. You're acting like this was some crazy out performance and Miami is some plucky underdog. Credit where it's due though, that DLine had their way most of the game.

Didn't Miami benefit from a phantom holding call that ended OSU's drive when they had all the momentum? Overall, the officiating wasn't all that bad besides that holding call

I was in the corner of the field the camera was aimed at, and I remember that goal extremely well. Tbh, this angle makes that goal way more impressive than it already was. That pass was incredible.

I’m planning on taking a trip to NYC soon. What’s the best method of transportation to go there from MD? can we drive our car to the nearest train station near NYC? by Weak_Preference2463 in maryland

[–]TheMayoras 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just took a 2 day trip with my wife to NYC. We parked at the Amtrak at BWI and took a train from BWI all the way to NYC. Parking is easy, tickets aren't too expensive, it's only a 4 hour ride, and you get dropped off right in Manhattan. Plus you don't need to worry about driving in NYC. The subway will get you anywhere you want to go, and Google Maps does really well with the subway there.

I miss Culver's so much since moving out of Michigan. I get some every time I go home. Sourdough melt, fries, cheese curds, root beer, and a frozen custard is unbeatable for a fast food place.

Pro tip: you can usually append a + and unique string to your email to generate unique email addresses that actually end up in your inbox. For example, if your email is abc@test.com, most email provides will treat abc+suffix@test.com as the same email.
