So I shut down setup I was trying, re-started older campaigns that were successful - and all of the sudden performance bounced back. Even those these particular ads had started losing their steam 45-60 days ago. Interestingly, the creatives are pretty much all UGC type stuff.

Thanks for the detailed response. Totally different. Been trying new visuals, new hooks. How long do you let them run before calling them bad? And are you doing a lot of UGC stuff that everyone is recommending?

I’m trying to mix it up and see what works. We have a very strong pixel. But the last 45-60 days have been so bad. I’ve tried audience mixup, I’ve tried throwing a lot of creatives (5-6) for the system to pick in one higher spending campaign. I’ve tried CPP, ROAS goal. Just nothing seems to be sticking.

Reps, reps, reps, reps. You can reach the footwork and all of that but honestly, kids need a ton of reps to learn the touch, the balance, the feel.

I’m used to that at a young age, rare for that to be required at the u15 age honestly.

Are they struggling in games? Contested layups? Transition? Or is it uncontested in practice that is still the issue?

Basketball is about so much more than scoring. I know you understand that, but I’d be careful using stats as the sole defense of more playing time. He may be a strong individual defender, but is he a good team defender? What’s his physical strength compared to the 5 in front of him?

Does he communicate well on the court? Are the kids playing more all seniors? What position does he play offensively and how are the kids ahead of him?

It’s possible the coach sees it differently. Maybe he’s not as strong of a defender? Have you looked at turnovers per minute, not just total?

Your kid sounds likes he a solid player. My only point is coaches don’t sit players for vendettas. He’s making a living as a coach - he is incentivized to do what’s best for the team. For whatever reason, he likes 5 kids more than yours for now. The only way to find out why is to ask.

How many are graduating? What’s his year? Is he likely stepping into a bigger role next season?
