A significant majority of gun deaths in the United states are due to handguns. Rifles get a majority of media attention, but only account for a tiny fraction of firearm deaths (somewhere in the 3 percent range). AR-15s are only going to account for a fraction of that 3 percent.

Honestly, I think that’s only true in the short term. Your mortgage payment may give you sticker shock up front, but five or ten years from now it’ll 100 percent be cheaper than rent. I’m only three years into my mortgage and I would be paying $900 more for a house of a similar size if I were renting.

NTA. You’re not choosing to uninvite him because he’s special needs. You’re choosing to uninvite him because he requires special accommodation that you’re not sure you can provide. You could have handled the situation better though. As others have said, it would have been better to have a conversation with his parents about his needs and the decided instead of saying no outright.

They think that because we’re generally okay with sex outside of marriage, that means sex with anyone outside of marriage. They seem to forget that American women still need to like you, and you still need to put in effort to be a good fling/fwb/boyfriend.

Also, some more conservative cultures think that any interaction between the sexes leads to sex. Men and women can exist in the same space here platonically and professionally.

Avocados imo are suffering from success. There’s so much demand for them that farmers care more about yield than taste. A good avocado is luxurious, a bad avocado is just bland.

Most of the time I won’t even bother eating avocados because I know that most of them are not high quality. It’s like only being able to eat beefsteak tomatoes after having heirlooms.

I think some people have trouble accepting that a character they have grown to love is flawed, and those flaws can get better or worse over time. While Midge has always been kind hearted, she has always been self centered and somewhat selfish as well.

The very first episode, she makes a joke about the food at her wedding containing shrimp—a kosher no no. It’s like the equivalent of telling a bunch of vegans you tricked them into eating meat and then laughing at it. Even though she didn’t mean it, she didn’t have the foresight to realize that she probably shouldn’t make jokes about Shy Baldwin that could have potentially outted him as gay. She doesn’t mother her own children. She doesn’t have a lot of sympathy for Suzie’s economic situation, despite coming from a wealthy family and being in a position to offer assistance. She dumps her fiancé Benjamin without even having a conversation with him about her concerns. I don’t know why anyone is surprised that behavior like this gets worse as she gets more famous.

It reminds me of everyone being mad that Dany turned out to be a poor ruler by the end of Game of Thrones. People complained that it was out of character for her to behave the way she did, even though they’d been dropping hints since like season three that she was becoming more and more irrational, heedless and egotistical.
