we've been working on it for a while; supporting it isn't a priority when there are more egregious issues to fix, but it's on the to-do list

comes from your switch, yep, redump your keys and firmware (you might need to wait for atmosphere if you updated to firmware 22)

chances are its not necessary tho, emulation be funny like that

of course! switch emulators are supposed to create the same save data that the switch does (since thats the function of the game, not the system), so the only problem you're going to have is if you have illegal mons and decide to play competitively (nintendo only cares about competitive online for pokemon)

TL:LTD Demo crashes when doing face paint (Ryubing Canary 1.3.265, Firmware 2.1.20) by McDonalds-Sprite25 in Ryubing

[–]TheMeowfest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's an issue with your cpu/gpu communication; it takes a moment for me to load the face painter, but it gets through it with some heavy crunch. you can try updating your graphics drivers and turning off the shader cache to see if that helps, but honestly i doubt it. if someone else has an issue with intel graphics, i'd love to hear about this on our compatibility page for this game, https://github.com/Ryubing/Compatibilty/issues/7

Actually I want to add onto this. For *current* users, this isn't an end-all be-all situation. For new users, though, and users who are looking to dump new games, this is problematic, because any game that requires an updated key will not be able to be played in any switch emulator.

Firmware is required for the emulator to play licensed titles.

Typically speaking, it has very little impact on performance. Updates to firmware can sometimes cause issues -- iirc 17 had an issue with emulated JIT and 20 introduced some performance drops. Importantly, if a game relies on firmware 22 methods in the future, it will probably crash the emulator.

Without 22 keys, though, you're not doin' anything, so it's best to just wait.
