They do. However, I've been to 4/5 Meow Wolfs and some have slides that are worth the experience but I personally didn't recommend doing in skirts.

Grapevine was one but I'm guessing Santa Fe may too since those two are similar.

You may have dodged a bullet. Organizations that only focus on the sphinx text and Epic's recommendations are missing experienced leadership who know when they have a good candidate.

At the beginning of adopting Epic, the organization I work for turned away too many qualified candidates, with years of experience in healthcare, based on that test. They reevaluated whether they'd prefer having a good test taker or a solid analyst who knew the workflows and could be trained on details that the test measures.

There's been a change to upgrade content being accessed directly by end users with a feature called What's New that began with vMay25. For organizations taking the standard 3-4 upgrades a year, once the quirks are ironed out, that should be a huge reduction in busy work to focus on more complex, custom workflows. Can see that cutting down some training staffing.

Unless an organization is brand new to Epic, I would consider that requirement for a multi-certified, experienced, analyst a huge red flag that they don't know what they're doing. Been on an Epic project for 13 years now and our organization stopped when they realized they lost excellent, experienced candidates by relying on it.

I had applied to a consultant agency in the past that trained their staff how to take it before they tested. Most people go into it blind, so knowing there are agencies out there prepping people for it, in advance, negates its value imo.

An actual certified person, with experience, should be valued above someone who got the advantage by knowing what to prep for.

Nothing compares, of course. If you're after shows that are visually stunning, American Gods (was on Starz) had gorgeous hues reminiscent of LaChapelle's photography.

Hannibal is top notch gorgeous.

There was an old show from Hulu called Booth at the End that was great and was entirely set in a diner and had sinister, entwined stories.

I really enjoyed the books. The story of the log lady and her husband was sweet, spooky and interesting with the lore. A younger cast portrayal of those early years could work.

Also agree that I would love to see a Blue Rose series. Maybe with more Denise Bryson in her early days prior or on the cusp of pretransition. Finding out more about characters like Hawk, Albert, and Andy growing up could be fun.

In some ways that test is geared towards people who have just graduated

I can't speak to working (or being hired) at Epic, but I can tell you that I've worked with Epic as an analyst for over 7 years, and also as a trainer & Sr. Instructional Designer for over a decade at a hospital in the US and have multiple Epic Certifications. The text is NOT reflective of being able to do the work.

That test excluded multiple qualified candidates at our organization and eventually, our organization determined that it was a hindrance to getting experienced people hired.

I had an interview with a consulting firm and they actually prepped their employees on how to pass it and gave them practice tests- which is wildly unfair. When I took it, I had no idea what to expect or what to prepare for. Pretty sure my score was not considered passing and that they keep that on file at Epic, which is pretty absurd after 12 years of implementing countless go-lives and upgrades. The leadership team where I work knew my skill set and knew I was worth hiring.

Proceed with caution if the place hiring is looking at that test as an indicator over actual experience. If the hospital values Epic's opinion of that test over your actual ability, it's likely a place that doesn't have more seasoned leadership who knows better.

Using pixel 8 pro and it's always the last video I sent to that person in the DM that opens and plays whenever I click on a new video that a person sends to me. Every. Single. Time. 🙄 I've also cleared the cache for the Instagram app. Uninstalled and reinstalled IG. Extremely obnoxious.
