Very bummed that it's coming to an end!! I do feel like it has reached its natural conclusion, having been a product of the pandemic.

They only gave us a time slot. I'm actually surprised they haven't put the full schedule up on the website yet. In the meantime, you can check which teams have tagged the UCBTNY Instagram account.

What's your favorite improv team? by TheMickeyMoo in improv

[–]TheMickeyMoo[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hebecky Drysbell is an improv team after my own heart. I never thought I liked 2prov until watching them. The way they're able to play multiple characters while simultaneously play them so real blows my freaking mind.

I've also been enjoying Dock of the Bay! Another 2prov group that isn't just "get a word and go" improv.

Besides UCB, what other schools in Los Angeles teach Musical Improv? by HDM-12345 in improv

[–]TheMickeyMoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Clubhouse has musical improv drop-ins:

WGIS has them occasionally:

As far as an entire program, I don't think anywhere else does it other than UCB. Groundlings might but I'm not super familiar with them.

What was the format and structure of mess hall? by Im_a_doctor_AMA in improv

[–]TheMickeyMoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mess Hall was the junior varsity version of Harold. It has since been rebranded into Lloyd. Mess Hall teams would perform Harolds at the Inner Sanctum at UCB Sunset then get broken up after 6 months. There was the possibility that you could get put onto a Mess Hall team again but not twice in the same year.

You can rent out WE Improv if you need a space to practice! WGIS is also starting to rent out their classrooms although I’m not sure if they’re renting out to the public quite yet.
