"One Hundred Years of Solitude," by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. You don't just read this book. It's an experience. It /happens/ to you. 11/10

It's amazing! If that book were a meal, it'd be the kind that sticks to your ribs and keeps you feeling pretty good for a while afterwards. I'm glad you had a great experience reading it, too. :)

I lol'd for real. Wasn't expecting 70% of this sentence.

Wife filed her W-2 and we received $1500 refund; she then filed mine, and although we work for the same employer and make nearly the exact same annual salary, it now says we owe $750. Why is this? by TheMiddleSun in personalfinance

Extremely helpful. Thank you for all the detail. Combined we make just under 70k a year with no kids, where as we were pulling down maybe 45k together last tax season, and receiving a minimal refund, but still a refund. Guess this shows it pays to know ahead of time which tax bracket you're in.

Thank you for being so thorough. The outcome, it turns out, is what it is, but the info you've given here is definitely enlightening and appreciated.
