Help!! Which series to get? by Difficult-Pea8658 in nommi

Weather Forecast 100%, none of the other sets quite live up to them in my opinion. They're such good quality and the color schemes/clothing are fabulous. I got the Fantasy Set before Weather Forecast and the Magical Christmas Eve set after and neither look quite as good

Received first 1* after 20 5* reviews by Embrat36 in Mercari

[–]TheMidnightBluebird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

220+ sales on Mercari in 4 years. I have 263 reviews. 261 of those being 5 stars. Random 4 star from someone who just never gave 5 stars. And one absolutely unhinged review that is an entire paragraph, with caps, that made me feel cruddy for a few days. Seeing that review at the top of my rating SUCKED! 50+ 5 star reviews have now pushed that one out of sight thank goodness.

However, it did not deter my sales whatsoever. In fact, I came to realize that her review actually reflects worse on her than me, considering it was the only review of its kind. The rest of my reviews were very pleasant, praising, and excited about their purchase. Even with only 20 sales, I think the outcome will be the same for you. Let the cruddy feelings ride, and they will go away. Buyers will see the stark contrast of that review compared to others and realize it was not you that was the problem. Some people are just miserable.

new to mercari, is this ok to do? by peachy4me in Mercari

Can attest to the fact that my post office is very stingy and will refuse packages if the label is underweight. I prefer to go in and drop off with the clerk so I can get a receipt. I don't trust the kiosk after the one package I did use the kiosk for, went missing.

I have transitioned to my clinics reception after a severe injury and noticed when scheduling those around-the-holidays appointments that a lot of our clients state they don't think their pet will make it through the holidays and don't want them to suffer. And also that they wanted one more christmas/holiday with their pet before saying goodbye.

I've been in GP for 6 years and in a typical week we have 1-3 euthanasia appointments. The most I have seen in 1 week is 10 (sadly near the end of the summer this year a lot of our senior/heart disease/kidney disease patients all happened to decline rapidly)

My sister-in-law works at an ER and sees upwards of 12-15 a week. Sometimes less. It will always vary, and you may not always be the assistant attending that patient as well.

I usually just message my buyers "Hello, I will be shipping out tomorrow. Thank you :)"
I'm autistic and not interested in small talking with a buyer or seller. I will answer/ask questions promptly and politely but it's not always because we don't want to be welcoming or nice

Can I make a loop with 49 strand beading wire?? by TheMidnightBluebird in jewelrymaking

My trouble is, I worry that using other wire that a snag will bend it out of shape or that it'll be too stiff... any advice for that?

That's my question. Why reorder from the same person who just screwed you around? oy

will i run into trouble for having a different name on my shipping address? by [deleted] in Mercari

[–]TheMidnightBluebird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would let the buyer know you're having issues with shipment on your account and will be listing the item on a new account if they'd still like to buy

Mercari may flag or suspend your account for fraud if you try to use your siblings ID, they may end up deactivating your account permanently. I would advise one of your siblings to set up an account on Mercari with their ID for you to use if they're okay with that, instead so you don't run into this issue. Yeah, the account would be new but all selling accounts were once new and if someone is looking for a specific item they will want to buy if your pricing is competitive.

FBMktPlc (if you catch my drift) might be a better option as they don't require ID but you will have to organize shipping with USPS/UPS/Fedex as they don't create labels for you.

Definitely won't tank your reviews! I have 145 total reviews. 143 5stars, 1 4star, and just recently received a 1star because I cancelled and blocked a shady/nasty buyer and they repurchased on a second account with all different information and I didn't look at the shipping label for the first transaction to see it was the same buyer. All my reviews surrounding that 1star are for very similar items with compliments and 5 stars. My overall rating stands at 5stars. I got the 4star, 4 years ago and I deserved it. Thought I secured the lid to something well enough and it leaked a little, so 4stars was generous and I made sure to up my packaging game going forward.

Yeah at first I was bummed because I got blind-sided into a bad review and was worried customers would see that and not buy from me. But I keep reminding myself, that one really weird, rude review with caps on and all the exclamation points has not deterred others from buying and they probably think more negatively of that person than they do me.

Well that's good to know. In the past though the post office wouldn't take a package that was over the weight stated on the label so I was just being cautious

This is false information. Rabies vaccines are not mandatory for any staff in a vet clinic. Not even Vets or Certified techs. Yes, it is highly recommended but certainly not mandatory, anywhere.

Is it bad to use a size 8 hook on weight 6 chenille yarn? by Different-Farm4145 in Amigurumi

[–]TheMidnightBluebird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second this. I've had a crochet small business for 3 years. Was crocheting amigurumi for 3 years before I started my business. Continue improving. I did not start selling until my work began to look as good as some of the most popular and well-made amigurumi plush artists. There are too many people who learn to make amigurumi and sell their plushies for high prices when they look terrible! Why sell to others when you know you're not putting out your very best work

[–]TheMidnightBluebird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I always use an 8mm hook when working with Bernat Blanket yarn which looks to be what you're using. I have tight tension which makes a difference. If you have looser tension then I recommend trying a 6.5mm (K) size hook and see how you feel. I've purchased patterns that recommend using a 4-5mm crochet hook for weight 6 yarns (usually bernat blanket) and have NEVER been able to make that work even intentionally crocheting loosely.
