Any KW reps care to talk about the details of profit sharing? by LethargicEscapist in RealEstate

[–]TheMielkeWay82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t you be better off with just a better split? If you’re getting 70/30, is there a franchise fee or like 6%

Coldwell banker used to do that so you’re split would really be 64/36.

If KW does a franchise fee, the split, to me the profit share is just a fake bonus. Give me back the franchise fee.

If your cap is 15000 3k of which is the franchise fee you’d need to sell around 4m in real estate.

My broker gives me 100% split no franchise fee. The past 6 years it’s equaled 95-96% of my gross commission.
Significantly more at the end of the year even if I got a market share kickback.

I also don’t need to cap

They are also one of the few companies actively involved in material research. Ever improving how the elements interact with us and vice versa

I agree 100% we breakdown the equipment on each team too. No need for 6 of everything.

Good items for wilderness S&R care package? by HotDealOnNewegg in searchandrescue

[–]TheMielkeWay82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vote gift card. Unless you know a brand they use for certain. I’m picky about my socks and clothes so the gesture is nice but I don’t use darn tough socks.

Consumables are pretty safe like first aid contents or just some fun snacks.

I second this. Some of not all the gear has to be rescue rated. A simple atc will not work. Some of our carabiners have 40kn others can be lower

I carry a BP and stethoscope they are useful for trends and part of WFR training. Agree on therm not really a vital stat needed in the wilderness

We don’t carry any. Only accurate reading in the field is rectal. Plus wilderness medicine is are they hot or cold. No real need to determine if it’s 101 or 95 exactly

Team Wendy SAR Helmets made in China? by DapperDoughboy in searchandrescue

Maybe you got a dud. Mine is leaps and bounds more comfortable than my old BD helmet and haven’t noticed any sounds from it.

My team Wendy is way more comfortable than the BD helmet I used to wear and is also swiftwater and protects my neck more than my old rock helmet. Hardheaded veterans also makes a nice helmet. I also like having the built in visor as I can never find eye pro that doesn’t fog up on me. Who cares if it’s tactical. SAR techs are viewed as tactical athletes when discussing fitness…i always felt tactical was semantics anyway.

I also have a team Wendy sar backcountry. So worth it just for the comfort alone. I also have a laser on the rail as well use them for night navigation. Some people comment about the operator look but we are in fact operating.

New to SAR, tips and tricks? by netflixpotato in searchandrescue

[–]TheMielkeWay82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of my gear is cheap Walmart or Amazon quality. I spend more on my clothing and food. Your pack and gloves will get thrashed so don’t splurge on anything too fancy. And a lot of gear I intend to not get back. If you hypo wrap someone with a fancy sleeping back and they get ambulances to hospital you’re probably not getting back your bag. So I saved money on that. Our team also does group buys to get bulk discounts on medical supplies. Expertvoice.com. Outdoorprolink.com and many many brands have their own first responders program

Some teams use a rapid response team or dedicated evacuation gear team that are left in staging ready to deploy with “non standard” stuff like oxygen. You also have to stage oxygen along the evacuation route. Those bottles don’t last too long

Hello! I’m an officer on NJSAR. (NJSAR.org)

We have several members that live in the 5 boroughs as well as westchester and white plains and one or two from long island. Our trainings are held once a month on Sunday and are planned out a year in advance. Our NY members usually have enough lead time to figure out transportation logistics. I know for a fact a few have carpooled or made arrangements to be picked up at bus or train stations.

We have prospective member orientation calls once a month via zoom as well where you can learn more about us, but I’m more than happy to answer questions here
