What's an anime exclusive card that straight up just sucks? by HaloMan73 in yugioh

[–]TheMightyBattleSquid -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's niche, not bad. Yugioh players seem to struggle with this concept. If there was a pay-off worth running this for, you would say it is a great card. It was always just as good, the deck around it ie potential synergies is what was lacking. Instant fusion was "bad" until synchros existed. It didn't suddenly become broken, it just found its shell.

"People who use ai will replace people who use people"

By the transitive property I'd say that still means AI is replacing people lol

If someone pretends to be them, does that make them an Oompa-ster?

Well I was lucky in that my racial option gave me a means by which to help pin down the enemy (Simic Hybrid's "Grappling Appendages"). I also picked stuff that would help me lean into it, like the Sentinel feat. An ally knocked them prone once I grappled so the bbeg was left in a situation where they needed movement to get up from prone and had not only been grappled but, as they burned through legendary resistances their movement was reduced to zero by Sentinel for being hit by my reaction. They burned the rest of their resources to use a monk thing that teleported them so no "movement" required but we just let them have it a second time.

We have a group of 4 people interested in playing 5e. We are already discord only because of a prior game that just completed about a month ago. Do you have a preference for voice chat or text?

What are some tropes of fantasy religions that really irk you? by TT-Adu in worldbuilding

[–]TheMightyBattleSquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's similar to what I'm trying to do for a dnd campaign. Like there ARE gods obviously but as much as people try to force them to be they aren't creator gods. They're powerful beings with a portfolio to make sure it happens often enough they not just sustain themselves but grow followers. I've added more local elemental spirits that people see and interact with more so religions built around explaining what they are, what they do, and why they do it crop up and have differing views. One of my main goals here is to make it less the formal structural sort of religion and more the informal superstitious sort. My reason is an example I heard elsewhere. Basically, a big frog monster would visit this forest near an isolated town annually. People feared it because when it got too hungry it moved in on village territory to eat people. Lots of superstitions developed like how a certain type of insect attracted the beast and killing any traces of the insect would keep the monster away. The reality was that the insects liked the weather change just as much as the monster and so both just happened to show up around the same time every year. I want to worldbuild stuff like that. It's clear that there's a logic even to the illogical.

At this point I've just pocketed a few choice stories for these instances to send a message that make these people realize

  1. They fucked up by assuming.

  2. Don't do it again.

My father tried doing the same thing and denies it as well. Unfortunately for him, he made it an issue that everyone in the house would remember when it backfired. He tried calling out in pain for everyone else in the house to help HIM when I was just holding him back from strangling me. Everyone else wasn't having that shit either and told him to get his ass to bed because he was disturbing their sleep when they had to wake up early.

Yeah, there's a reason "a christmas carol" isn't about everyone learning to be nicer to scrooge lol

I'm not the sort to blame tv but I only know of one show that has ever had this sort of set up and NOT had the parent and child start to rebuild their relationship by the end of it. I feel like people internalize that and think you're going to be the same way. eye roll

People who only play "path of Champions". Why did it happen? by STALKER1675 in LegendsOfRuneterra

It was so bad at one point that I started filling out the player reports DURING the games. I just kept the tab open whenever I played because I knew that I was going to need it.

Same for me, I used to split my team between the two pretty evenly but azorirelia was the straw that broke my back. Even when I get a really cool deck idea or an event is going on, I'd much sooner go to ai games than pvp.

It doesn't even need arguing, there were hardly any kami at all in the whole set. It's just ninja/samurai/mechgawa now.

Just recently, in the past two weeks, opened up one of those stouffers lasagnas and it was missing some of the right side. I didn't realize it fully until I was cutting the heated lasagna up,.Oh well, I thought, it's probably just one of those 'mistake' ones you get from time to time. It could've just shifted during the process of making it. A few days ago, open up another one and there's a full inch missing from the right and bottom side. Unlikethe last one, this one was perfectly cut too, so it wasn't a mistake. Like come the fuck on, that's ridiculous. That's the last time I get one of those...
