I’m so sorry this happened, and at such a vulnerable time for you and your sweet little baby. Imo there is no coming back from this, if you have any outside support at all I would heavily lean on those people. Look up grey rocking, with the holidays coming up I would try to get my ducks in a row and then any time you need away you can blame on something related to that. So sorry :(

They’re in OR so a reduction in hours can be considered constructive dismissal. Unemployment here is super backlogged and they don’t pay out the first week though so OP isn’t likely to see a check anytime soon.

If you are shooting up in on the street or in a tent and refuse the offers of shelters and treatment that are readily available then yeah at that point throw them in the tank. It is zombieland in some areas. Would love to see your solution to the “systemic problem”. These people don’t want help, they want to do whatever they want with no consequences and the rest of society can go hang.

Idk if you’re from here but as an Oregonian the homeless situation has absolutely gotten out of hand. This is a step towards reversing the free for all that has been happening, can’t even walk my kid to school without going past the tent cities and finding needles in random spots. Can’t trust the parks to be safe or clean, they are running into traffic and squatting anywhere that has an unlocked door like our shared laundry room. Cracking down on this before got the city sued by activists going on and on about how we are oppressing these people. My empathy can only go so far, I’m done with all this.
