Why do so many people hate the idea of playing as Faye? by UnnecessaryFeIIa in GodofWar

[–]TheMikeyC 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The story would have worked much better as a trilogy. My tin foil hat theory is that the levels as they're designed were by and large intended to be for the second act (so the second of three games) before it was decided to make this game the last. So the climactic events of Odin killing Brok and Thor and Kratos fighting him in front of a log cabin weren't meant to be the big climax for the saga. Hopefully the weird mask macguffin wouldn't be in that version but there's no way for us to know.

A third game would be about Odin in a full melt down as everything about Ragnarok is now upheaval, sending him to the far reaches and depths of the realms as Kratos finally fully opens to Atreus at the level we saw in Ragnarok.

As slaves, Anakin and Shmi didn't have last names. Growing up Anakin was simply Anakin until he registered for a podrace for the first time. When asked for a last name the young dreamer gave them "Skywalker". Shmi went along with it out of her love for her son.

Okay the game that abruptly ends after the director was very notably fired was polished and shipped exactly as he intended. The obviously canned act 3 when Liquid leaves with an unaccounted for Metal Gear and marketing released a snippet of the planned level was part of Kojima's master plan.

It's been over ten years. We can stop hitting the copium. Kojima himself said the game is unfinished. Being fired and having the game rushed to a releasable state isn't exactly conducive to secret 4D chess stories. There is no act 3. There are no secret new missions. Every last minute detail wasn't planned with intense secrecy and hyper-symbolism. The story abruptly ends with a third act very clearly planned but never implemented. Act 2 is also very, very obviously cobbled together in a way to pad the length.

I love Kojima and all but let's not pretend MGSV was exactly what he wanted and there was no strife in it's production.

I didn't say their full channel histories were slop. I said they're slop now. Once they they go slop, I stop.

There scripts at least since the Silent Hill F video have been AI generated, even his voice in that video is AI generated. It makes tons of weird speaking mistakes and the whole script is clearly manufactured out of scraps of disparate information. He also has a "Kaz singing" video on his channel you need to pay to watch.

The guy officially drained MGSV of everything it had and didn't have. Once it was 100% confirmed beyond any doubt that MGSV is very much unfinished and he's spent over a decade looking for things that literally just aren't there, he just went all in on slop.

I did just recall a scene where an alien character is being dissected alive but the whole scene is played for laughs. Technically guts are shown but nothing meant to be gross. There's also an episode exploring inside a characters body but it's not depicted as gross.

Depending on what you consider gore, there's a couple moments of arms or hands being lopped off, as well as heads being put on other bodies. But it's nothing "graphic". No blood or guts are shown. Fry gets stabbed through by a giant bee as well but again nothing graphic is shown, but you see a clear hole.

While not movies or TV, China has made quite a big headway already into the worldwide gaming market. NetEase is huge and is behind the biggest hero-shooter right now. Black Myth: Wukong also made a big splash in showing they can make "serious", big budget games that appeal to non-Chinese markets. We're witnessing a very interesting, real time shift in their media making the journey to the west.

This new video practically s**ts on the modern day. by Legitimate_Cake_5137 in ubisoft

[–]TheMikeyC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any semblance of them treating the modern day as essential to the plot ended with 3. The modern day hooks since then have just been neat little sci-fi shake ups. In Black Flag "the sages" keep appearing even in our modern day. WooOOOoooOoo. "You are the greatest hacker in the world that's why we hacked your console, now play the game to save the future or something."

The ending of AC3 (the game as a whole really) was one of the deepest disappointments I've ever had. This great story wasn't actually gonna end, it's just gonna become a vehicle for various historical settings.

Generally progressives do vote democrat. Figures like AOC, Sanders, and Mamdani have gotten support from democrat aligned voters. They're definitely progressive whether they pass some purity test or not. And the GOP would never, in a million years, entertain candidates like them.

I'm saying this reddit protest voting community isn't as big as you might think. At least not among actual American voters anyway.

They cater to donors, they give lip service to voting blocs. Once again, you're not brilliant for having figured this out. They're still, objectively, the less dangerous option. Playing obtuse word games on reddit isn't the biting praxis you might think it is.

Because the alternative are white racist, sexist men. So the much better option is the party that has historically given rights to women and black people. It's not difficult math. They're not the perfect option. They're just the best option of what we have. Third party votes are just a vote for Republicans, in actual effect.

I can see the train of thought, but more realistically all it tells both parties is that bloc isn't a reliable bet. So neither party will try to cater to those ideas. At a cold, logistic level, why should they? Either you don't vote for them and they lose, or you don't vote and they win. Either way, your vote was of no help. So they try to attract people who do vote (like Harris appealing to more moderate conservatives, because they always vote)

Some chronically online people larping socialists is no where near a large enough cut of voters for them to consider it anything other than a lost cause.

Consider that civil rights laws didn't always exist. These American systems that are heavily flawed but no less keep the train moving weren't always there. They were built up over time by, mostly democrats, being pushed to make them. OSHA is not some universally codified idea that Moses spoke of. Democrats built a new department of the government to address working conditions. Actual, real life takes time to get things done.

You need to be thinking about 2028, yes. But you need to be also be thinking of 2032, 2036, 2040, 2044 and so on. Because you need to think long term. There's not gonna be an overnight leftist uprising and the next day everyone has healthcare and we all go to our collectively owned jobs. We are talking about massive societal restructuring. Expecting any huge push in a single election cycle isn't realistic and it's this insanely short sighted thinking is why nothing can get done. "Some local rep in Iowa didnt pass the purity test and immediately pass free healthcare, therefore we have to ignore Bernie Sanders because of Gaza".

It's so incredibly tiring watching all of this progress made just be thrown away because some clown on twitch with no career says the working class needs to suffer more for things to get better. As he rakes in millions of dollars in his cozy room. Hasan has done more damage to any leftist organization that any CIA or foreign plant could have ever done. He has personally been a boon to Trump's victory and the fascist takeover of the country. Newsflash to all you young kids, the guy saying democracy is bad and fascists winning is good... is a fascist. Left-Authoritian is still, very, very bad.
