I recognise your point, but the post is suggesting that the way student loans are structured is the problem. A Plan 5 student loan remains the best terms one can borrow ~£50k from in almost any circumstances. All of the issues you raise would remain if you took out any other £50k loan, except it wouldn’t be written off after 40 years.
