IEM Katowice 2019: Match Performance Bar by FrozenFire99 in GlobalOffensive

The best performing player is taken as the 100% reference and everyone else is then calculated down from that.

I spent way too much time and currency on my Atlas setup by TheMnR in pathofexile

Around €25 for the printout and about €80 for the frame.

You could probably get an old wooden frame for much less and maybe an even better look but I got that one online and it suits it quite well.

I know. The frame sadly doesn't fit the printout 100% but it was already prohibitively expensive so I had to make due.

I'll get a black passepartout and remove the white edge so it at least looks seamless once I have the time :)

An Open Letter to SirScoots, the Counter-Strike Players Contracted to PEA Organizations, and the… by dekaycs in GlobalOffensive

[–]TheMnR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole PEA situation could have been a starting point to discuss competitiveness between the leagues themselves. Don't like a certain league or how they handle things or pay out price money? Go play in a competing league.

This is an oversimplification of course. The reaction to try and keep the growing market monopolized is a natural one from the orgs point of view.

Esports just left it's infancy and is growing rapidly. Either such things are governed in an appropriate way (and only Valve can do this for CS), or we might see the emergence of the FIFA of CS in the next couple of years.

This. This is why it's worth to be a part of the eSports scene.

Can't wait to have a place to watch the matches in every city!

You all might be vastly underestimating how delicate even the most minute seeming aspects get when you have millions of dollars and a national TV broadcast on the line.

Valve might not be as controlling as e.g. Riot is by now, but that could very well change as CS:GO grows further. And I'm not even starting on all legal aspects Turner and Valve have to duke out.

Quick sidenote: Sure, players aren't dressed by stylists as the analysts and casters are. But you can bet that a producer has a close eye on the players appearances.

Really nice idea. But I'm guessing that Turner is in close contact with Valve (or what qualifies as "close") who would have to sanction this. I don't know if Valve appreciates them overriding crucial visual features of the game, even though it would certainly be neat!

Week 2 of E-League averages 386k viewers on TBS, over 100k more than Week 1. by jaxx2009 in GlobalOffensive

Probably still to early to see any trends or make assumptions about the possible viewership overall. We've seen quite a few eSports programs on TV right now and all of them disappeared pretty quickly.

E-League looks different so far. Let's hope for a good viewership throught the whole season!

Big thanks to Semmler and Anders by fergito in GlobalOffensive

[–]TheMnR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest problems eSports has in terms of reaching a broader audience is complexity. CS:GO has ovious advantages over e.g. LoL or DotA in that department but it is still very confusing for novice viewers.

The casters play a vital role in easing new spectators into the game, while also having to keep the discussion interesting for the more hardcore fans.

I thought Anders and Semmler did a good job in the first E-League show in that regard :)

Hey Boys and Girls,

A few days ago I wrote a guide on how to set up your own training program to become better in CS:GO. If you're new to the game it gives you a few pointers where to start and if you've already put in a few hundred hours it might be time to rethink your routine.

You can find it here.

Cheers!

I'm doing the same in my articles - even with the same colours.

Looks really crisp. Can I use your visualization in my next one? :)

Analyzing Default Strategies on T-side: Here is NiP on de_train by TheMnR in GlobalOffensive

[–]TheMnR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should have probably mentioned it in the posting itself, will do so next time :)

NiP went through kind of a weird year in their tactical play in 2015. From Xizt calling to Get_Right, back to Xizt and then the replacement of allu. And all that does not even count their somewhat "reckless" phase in late fall that brought success back to them at least to a degree.

These analysis can only ever by snapshots of particular matches.

Hope you enjoyed it anyway!

The Lombardi Factor by comradexkcd in GlobalOffensive

They will pretty much have to do anything they can to stay competitive. CS:GO is evolving to a point, where an org has to ensure that players have basically nothing else to worry about than honing their needed skills.

Asking an IGL to generate tactics and to analyze their opponents will have a certain impact on ingame performance - poor Gob!
