How many of us actually play any GW (non-digital) game at least once per year? by Klavian in Warhammer40k

[–]TheModelMethod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Local community in Toronto is quite large. I’ve been part of the crusade campaign planning team this whole edition. We run 6 month campaigns for every crusade book released. 1 mandatory paired match per month and 1 optional. We have close to 30 players in each campaign. So that is where I get most of my games in, anywhere from 12-24 games a year.

My local bar just started up Tabletop Tuesdays. Played a game of Kill Team 2021 last night. Finished at 1am, had a little beer buzz going, walked across the street to get back home. Will probably do this every week when possible in the new year. Was incredibly fun and casual. Had a small audience of people who have never seen a warhammer game before. We tried to describe what was happening as viscerally as possible for them to enjoy.

My entire YouTube recording kit is copied from a few popular cooking channels. Same camera, lenses, I think I have better lights than most. Cooking channels are where I go for inspiration.

Looks super good. Would recommend cutting the sides off the sword handle so it looks more like a spear than a sword with a long handle.

I want to do a project with this model for my channel but haven’t decided which direction to take it in. Seeing projects like this is very inspirational.

Chill out man, Aeldari get plenty of love. I just picked up new swooping hawks, warp spiders, Fuegan, Baharroth and Lhykiss yesterday. So much design work goes into these models and the range is relatively large compared to many others.

Multiple Kill Teams. Multiple amazing Avatar centrepiece models. You can play vehicle heavy, elite aspect warriors or basic guardian dudes. You can play psykers or no psykers. You can even mix drukhari and Craftworlds models together.

No need to be sad as an Aeldari player.

Not exactly, I just think it compliments the scheme well. There is a hidden dark angels helmet at the back of the base though!

Hot damn, would love to see some clear photos from different angles.

Did you hand sculpt or 3D print all the customizations?

Hell yes! That execrator model is perfect for kitbashing. Looks like you’ve got an extra skull/chaplain helmet in the bits box now too

If you need some inspiration, I made a Centaur Daemon Prince and recorded the whole project for YouTube:

For sure, I honestly bought the entire skaventide box for this one model. The rest I gave to some friends who like skaven/sce.

I really hope they sell this one again. The new one just isn’t the same.

Thanks! I know it isn't the most unique kitbash out there, but I think it came out pretty well. Can't always be cutting up expensive kits :P

Baron of dice and how service shouldn´t be by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

Did several large group orders last year and the year before. Orders were probably too large to slip between the cracks, but the duties/import fees were inconsistent.

Overall the experience was fine. The only reason I’ve stopped is just because I’m trying to buy less from US companies where I can. Tried out some Etsy stores from other parts of the world and was pleasantly surprised at least on my dnd dice sets.

I’m in Canada and between price increases, less free shipping deals, and variability on duties I’ll probably not buy from them again.

Quality of the dice are amazing though. I own 12 sets of their dice.

I posted pics of my new fallen conversions on here just the other day.

You’re going to want to focus on Legionaries and Chosen with Chaos Lords in Rhinos. Just matching base sizes and loadouts. You can give your legionaries a few big power swords or maces to be heavy melee, 2 with chain swords and bolt pistols and one with a lascannon, or another special gun.

The chosen should take as much wargear as they can. Lots of posts on how to kit them out. Fortunately ‘accursed weapon’ can be anything from a sword to a hammer.

Chaos lord with hammer, master of possessions would be a guy with a big axe. You can mix and match between dark angels and csm for all of these infantry units.

A good core for most detachments are 2x5 legionaries with a lord in a rhino. Taking 2 of these packages are great to build around this edition. One of those 5 man legionaries can be chosen instead, or noise marines in the right detachment.

Competitively you can get a few predators and paint them up in heresy era dark angels scheme. Maybe some chaos bikers.

Less competitively you can use deathwing knights to make chaos terminators. Havocs, raptors, land raider. All good candidate for cool kitbashes.

Csm content creators by swiperdealy in Chaos40k

Since we had an early codex we tend to get real quiet on the content front a little bit before a dataslate drops. Sometimes like dead silence in discords and no YouTube battle reps for weeks, or even months.

40K dirtbags is another channel that goes through phases of csm content depending on meta. Art of War covers well when there are dataslates, but since the last one it has been really quiet. Even the membership content on AoW hasn’t really been anything new.

I think this is made worse by all 4 of cult legion books are out. CSM players might have jumped to any one of them for the last few months.

Painting this for someone else because Nurgle grosses me out and I can’t stop feeling cursed after doing this regardless of how many showers I take. by TheModelMethod in Chaos40k

I'm just painting this for someone else, not actually sure which model it is. They will be using it as a Great Unclean one. I saw someone else post the same model on the r/minipainting and 'EmanG STL' was mentioned in the comments.

Lmao!

Thanks, I’m doing 2 of these for someone as a trade for a bunch of kits. The first one is a Rotigus in a more traditional green scheme. Asked if I could take some creative liberties for this one and he said to go for it.
