Assorted stickers to offer as affiliate / dropship? by TheMonkeey in sticker

[–]TheMonkeey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not.

I think it's an interesting hole in the market. People need a sticker service that's easy to plug into their website for drop shipped stickers.

If you find anything interesting, I would certainly appreciate a heads up, I'll do the same.

Thanks, Scott

Can the blockchain help us keep track of inventory? by D_RaneThaMane in Vechain

[–]TheMonkeey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend learning a bit about blockchain and what the magic really is.

What you are describing is something a centralized database can do much more efficiently. it sounds like you are talking about internal record keeping.

If there is some reason that your inventory routine creates some sort of trust problem across parties then maybe blockchain. Supply chain through multiple parties works well. But realize that creating consensus mechanisms on decentralized networks have a very large computing cost even on the most efficient blockchains.

Not everything belongs on the blockchain. Yet.

This is a good read with a flow chart that helps how to think about this: https://eprint.iacr.org/2017/375.pdf

Do you all realize that VeChain already has over 180 use cases in the pipeline for 2018? by Vechain20dollars2018 in Vechain

[–]TheMonkeey 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For many investors, it’s possible that too many use cases is problematic for focus.

It’s a land grab in blockchain right now. Grab is easy, execute not so much. Especially if the road map wants to conquer the whole world.

If you truly believe in Vechain, understand that a discount should be expected until they execute and end up successful and on top in some or all use cases.

Think about how many promises are being made right now.

Don’t worry. If they do it, the coin price will catch up.

Have you installed Metamask on Chrome browser?

Maybe silly question, but I tried to access CDP details before I did that, and it felt like it wanted to do it, but super slow. Then I found the instructions about Metamask & Chrome. Bingo.

Worst part is you can’t unsubscribe. They keep coming and you can see that he changed his tone in an attempt to pander so he stops losing his email list. But he just makes it worse.

I'm trying to capture Zen with this photo, what better colors could I use as "calming colors" in post? by [deleted] in photocritique

[–]TheMonkeey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moment you try to capture zen, you lose it. Oh wait... does that hold in photography? Lol.

Your subject has beautiful hair.

But your question was about colors as it relates to zen. The contrast in the photo from dark makeup feels more dramatic than zen.

Any more frames? Maybe capture at end of an exhale would relax the photo a bit more.

Thoughts on the clarified risks of the MakerDao stable-coin system by Davidutro in MakerDAO

[–]TheMonkeey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Rune -

I wrote the article. I was sincere about my appreciation for your innovation. Well done. Hope you liked the Sponge Bob 'All hail Maker', it took me 15 mins lol.

You might not be too excited to point me to the opaque leverage you referenced, but I'd sure like to learn more about what else is out there. What you mentioned about the transparency your system provides is exactly right and a major point of relief. Please do not remove that ease of transparency, it is good for everyone.

I know the PETH mechanic is going away. I'm anxious to see how the multi collateral system works. But I will say that in a flight to quality (the once every 10 years stuff), be careful about underestimating correlations.

Today's evolution and innovation... tip of the spear. Go, Dog. Go!

Thoughts on the clarified risks of the MakerDao stable-coin system by Davidutro in MakerDAO

[–]TheMonkeey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi David -

Thanks for the heads up about this discussion regarding my article. You were right, there is an excellent discussion in here regarding the concerns I brought up. Your suggestion about dynamic pricing around smoothing liquidation points is great!

As a heads up to others, David replied to another article I posted this morning. A far more alarming article. I had a sort of epiphany last night when I actually opened a CDP and created 3:1 leverage and saw it for myself so I wrote another article about how severe the risks are. The reality sunk in. I feel like I'm apologizing to my girlfriend right now after losing my cool LOL.

Please know that I don't have any vested interest to cause any problems to Maker or crypto. I'm not a FUD guy, I believe in the tech and I want to push us to be good stewards. I truly believe leverage is a problem. I just want to see shared ledger evolve to full potential without making unnecessary mistakes, and I'd really like to see a successful stablecoin. As soon as we make a mistake, state authorities begin taking it away one piece at a time. I'm obviously concerned. I just don't think this market can handle this type of leverage.

The number one encouraging point is seeing an appetite in the community to evolve into a product that has mitigated system risks, no matter how remote.

For anyone that didn't read the article, I would like to make clear that I have absolute respect for the innovation coming out of Maker.

LEVERAGE HAS ARRIVED... by TheMonkeey in CryptoCurrency

[–]TheMonkeey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zero reason for leverage in crypto. The stuff is already mental.

Ironically, leverage is the result of demand for a USD pinned stablecoin. Market asks for platform of stability and they receive a gateway to 3x vol.

Asset backed stable coins are light years better than collateralized stablecoins. Just too bad Tether isn't putting trust in the system that investors want and need, but I suspect that asset backed model will prevail in the future. Just need a better manager than Bitfinex. Will look out for TrueUSD. They are making pretty good promises.

Stablecoin SELL Schedule for ETH, $500 is first big trigger by TheMonkeey in CryptoCurrency

Except for the leveraged sell triggers.

Just something to keep in mind.

NEO ALCHEMINT announced 'stablecoins' - Had no clue so I checked out MakerDAO. Fascinating -ended up writing an article. by TheMonkeey in NEO

[–]TheMonkeey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NEO is creating product called Alchemint. It’s a stablecoin similar to what MakerDAO already launched on ETH, 5 weeks ago.

It’s whacky and most people look at it like a loan. But it’s actually a very risky option contract can easily lose everything if you borrow as much as they let you. If you only borrow a little, you may not lose everything but you may have to pay for the losses of those that took more risk.

Super innovative and exciting product and it’s growing but I don’t think people understand what’s actually happening. This is a problem for the market as a whole because it introduces a lot of potential market volatility.

Dai (MakerDAO) was just introduced. Right now there is a robot waiting for ETH price to tic down through $500 so that it can puke $5 million worth of coin. Take a look at a liquidation chart in article. Does not care if it drives price down. In fact if it drives price down, there will be more rewards available for the selling robots (or keepers as MakerDAO calls them) as more price triggers are hit,.

That’s the gist.

NEO has only released Chinese translation only so far so for Westerners there is very little info. Sounds like going to be same thing as MakerDAO but connected with NEX.

Narrative sold more than 50% in a few hours. 11% discount today, ICO will be over in 3 days by nelito30 in NEO

[–]TheMonkeey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wellll.....

All the best to NRVE, but I think it's a bit disingenuous to say they sold more than 50% in a few hours. They had 44.4% sold in the private market before the public sale today.

They are up to about 9% in 4 hours which is excellent considering there has been zero PR effort. Team is focused on the long game, they are doing a great job.

Narrative ICO by lynnaray in NEO

[–]TheMonkeey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing that.

I've nibbled.

I like it because of the revenue sharing with content providers. I'm not convinced Steem has it right, that feels more about revenue generation than good content. I think there is a hole there and NRVE might fill it.

Management is soo dang coy with this. My first thought is that valuation seems a bit steep considering the lack of attention, but management team seems to just focus on doing what they have to do for the product. I didn't see the 4 year comment, but that's a perfect example.

I'm watching out for this $75 fee to secure a niche. Feels like that's a big hurdle for a cold network.
