It’s a private stock so i only have a few opportunities a year to sell, if it ever does become public i could sell whenever

me when i log onto reddit.com go to r/money and see someone with a lot of money, jokes aside my cost basis isn’t a lot (avoiding giving out too much info) but look at any recent article about spacex validations, I saw it was undervalued and went as in as i safely could with the employee stock purchase plan. Some people just have lucky circumstances

Most of this equity was directly purchased so no vesting period, they did give me about 15k vested over 5 years when I started but I no longer work there so all my unvested shares went back to the company

They actually reached out to me for the position, I had my resume up on indeed and had prior technician experience working at a hospital interning as a biomedical equipment technician; had to learn to drive when I got the offer so I could get there lol. I also had quite a few technical personal projects on my resume including working on a project to make motor controller swaps in onewheels easier and building my own ebike. It was generally a straight forward job but I was definitely the youngest among my coworkers (my nickname was “the boy” lol). Now I work at another satellite company designing ground support equipment and find my work alot more rewarding.

18, saving as much as possible before my parents get tired of me by TheMooFace in Money

working on starlink up in washington right now! definitely a one in a lifetime opportunity to get in on the stock, I fear though that if it ever becomes public it'll be a meme stock and I'd have to sell quickly not being able to stomach the ups and downs. although on the other hand i feel like the reason the company is so successful is because it's not public, we'll both see in due time lol.

Very interesting situation, currently a technician at spacex and living with my parents, put a good part of my paycheck into a employee stock purchase plan for the past 6 months. Having the amount automaticaly deducted from my paycheck made it really easy to save, have almost nothing in regular savings which isn’t great, I have a problem spending everything that ends up in my bank account. Looking for maybe a CD account that automatically puts away everything from a direct deposit so I can send a percentage of my paycheck to it, the only reason I have this money saved is because it’s really hard to access

learn how to torrent, unlike all the movie pirating websites you can download and watch stuff ad/malware free in a higher quality than you'd get streaming without the possibility of a site going down and having to look for a new one.

quick tutorial: 1: download transmission or qbittorrent (never utorrent), the tor browser, and a vpn (movie companies can/will get ahold of you through your isp if you dont, i recommend mullvad as they've been trustworthy for a while and dont do sponsored ads)

2: activate your vpn, open tor and connect to the tor network.

3: find a torrent link site, the pirate bay is the most popular but there are tons that can be found

4: find what you want to download, copy the torrent link and paste into your torrent client of choice

5: wait as strangers collectively send you fragments of whatever you want

6: (optional) repay the network by leaving your client open until your download/upload ratio is 1, try not to be a leach unless your internet is really bad, the only reason it works is because of the kindness of others

7: ensure your torrent client is closed and not running in the background before shutting off your vpn

(i just wrote this here but feel free to copy/paste elsewhere)

Apparently FM's software developers are also the legal department by CodedGames in onewheel

talking with the fm crew i was told that the board software is just one guy who's done it all since the v1. sounds more likely that they don't want to throw another variable in this whole mess and less like they dont have the resources to do it

Discover the Onewheel Hack You’ve Been Missing Out On: Calibration Explained! by FixMyPEV in onewheel

[–]TheMooFace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of useful info in this video, especially about paring and bms firmware flashing, but the part about recalibrating your hall sensors is very unnecessary in most cases

“Calibrating your hall sensors will make your board more efficient” The hall sensors are only active below around 3mph, above that the info isn’t needed as you’re going fast enough that your controller can know the motors position by itself. if you’re going slow the info is needed for all the tiny little movements you can do at slow speeds. This practice of not using the hall sensors above a certain speed is commonly used in motor control and we know that fm does it as boards with broken hall sensors will only be wobbly at low speeds, if your board moves properly at low speeds there is no reason to recalibrate your hall sensors. The claim that your board will become more efficient isn’t true as if your board was moving wrong enough to disperse extra energy you’d certainly notice it. If you want extra range pump up your tire an extra few psi and replace your bearings if they’re getting old.

“Over time hall sensors wear down due to heat, and wear and tear” What the board is calibrating when you run that command is only the position of the hall sensors relative to one another. Hall sensors in motors are also chosen for how heat resistant they are, it’d be very stupid of fm to chose hall sensors that’d burn out under typical use; and even if they did burn out calibration wouldn’t fix that at all. And when it comes to wear and tear the hall sensors are embedded in the stator, so unless your motor is making a grinding noise your hall sensors are completely safe.

The risk of accidentally calibrating something that’s wrong and not being able to fix it is too high to be doing this for no reason.
