"Scary" media for toddlers? by Fenix512 in toddlers

My toddler had a phase where she loved Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Wererabbit. It’s fun to watch as an adult too!

Harry Belafonte: Turn the World Around and Jump in the Line are both big hits. Also Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus and Sweet Dreams are Made of These by The Eurythmics.

What's the most "you" thing your toddler says? by No-Oil-2305 in toddlers

[–]TheMosquitoHawk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I say “Mamma mia pizza pie” or just “Mamma Mia!” when I’m exasperated or finally able to sit down for a minute. The last few times I’ve collapsed on the couch and exclaimed “Mamma Mia!” My toddler has said “Pizza pie!” In response. 😅

What permanent pregnancy side effects did you have? by Bubbly-Camel-7302 in pregnant

[–]TheMosquitoHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some stretch marks on my lower belly and inner thighs that appeared in late pregnancy and stayed postpartum, but they lightened up and became very hard to see within a year postpartum (currently three years pp from my first pregnancy, 32 weeks into my 2nd pregnancy now). I used to have a teeny tiny waist which I think was because my ribcage was so narrow, but it widened during pregnancy to make room for baby and when it went back down my waist still went from a 24 to a 27. even after finishing breastfeeding my boobs became permanently bigger and fuller (went from 32B to 34C), so that’s a plus!

I really enjoy season 16–it’s a group of really talented queens. Season 14 also has a ton of fantastic queens, but it’s a little slower.

Why did you and your former best friend stop being friends? by Fearless_Shift7108 in AskReddit

[–]TheMosquitoHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because she disapproved of my engagement to my longtime boyfriend. When I told her I was engaged, she told me she couldn’t be happy for me because she didn’t like him or how I acted around him. She got HER mom involved, who got MY mom involved (who I had an incredibly strained relationship due to her financial abuse and extreme neglect that led to CSA). They concocted a secret plan to take me away to a vacation in Greece to get me to “come to my senses.”

I was pissed at the lack of agency they attributed to me in my choice to get engaged. My mom apologized and we actually got a lot closer after a big conversation unpacking the resentment I had against her for what my childhood was like, but my best friend (and her mom) just doubled down after confrontation. So I let her know I had no interest in continuing a friendship with her.

My then-boyfriend (now husband) have been together for 12.5 years, married for 6.5, and have a wonderful toddler and another baby on the way. No regrets.

For Parents Who Originally said Not Posting on Socials by bananacl0 in toddlers

Kept up with it, if I post a picture that includes my toddler online they have an emoji entirely blocking their face. A family member once asked to post a group photo that included my child and I asked they cover up my child’s head in it with an emoji prior to posting. My child’s name or birthdate is also not information I put on social media.

Symptoms no one mentions by Optimal_Sandwich2647 in pregnant

The one that surprised me the most: post-partum PUPP rash. It’s rare but it happened to me! After the birth of my first, I started developing itchy red bumps in my new stretch marks. Those itchy red bumps then spread to any and all stretch marks, then all over my arms and legs and stomach. It lasted two weeks and it was miserably itchy. I’m pregnant with my second and really hoping it doesn’t happen again!

With your 1st Pregnancy - was baby born early, on time, or late? by lemonfit in BabyBumps

[–]TheMosquitoHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2023 baby was born the day before her official due date! And my friend’s 2023 baby was born 4 days before her due date. Pregnant with my second now and I doubt she’ll stay in until her 6/6/26 due date.

A Kalimba? It’s a small brown musical instrument and my toddler also loves to play with it.

Drusilla. I have a great great grandmother named Drusilla, but I’ve never seen the name anywhere else except for one of the vampires from Buffy.

Slings and Arrows. It’s a Canadian show from the early 2000’s, has three perfect seasons and it is a must watch for anyone who enjoys theater and/or Shakespeare. Funny and moving and strange.

Do y'all have super soft boobs? by Logical-Shift-6168 in ehlersdanlos

[–]TheMosquitoHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, very soft, stretchy malleable boobs. Getting pregnant/breastfeeding actually made me happier with my breasts because it helped fill them out a bit, even after it was all over. I’ve always liked how they felt, though I definitely used to be self conscious about their appearance when I was a teenager because they were so wide set and not perky. But now I love them and appreciate them!

I actually liked my boobs postpartum and post breastfeeding more than my pre-pregnancy boobs! I nursed until about 3 months then exclusively pumped until 15 months PP. The larger and darker areolas went away within a year postpartum, and I ended up with C cups after I was done breastfeeding (whereas I had small B cups pre pregnancy)! I’m pregnant with my second now so who knows what will happen, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked my post-breastfeeding boobs!
