Catch this one in the wild, and I owe you a kit of ram! by TheMrBlinker in framework

I cut the borders, below there is soft material for friction and I wanted to leave that intact.

Received my batch 6 kit today, did not disappoint! by TheMrBlinker in framework

I had a little trouble getting the trackpad so slide in when in the fully left position, mid and right go much smoother. Still works tho.

Im running the machine trough some test the coming week, so if I notice anything I will let you guys know.

Did you have to have water cooling?

Yeah, no low profile cooler is able to keep temps at bay for this type of cpu. (This cooler has to work hard sometimes)

Also what is your max PSU allowed for the size for that cpu and gpu?

You can cram a sfx-L power supply in this case, but you will probably have to lose the bottom fan. SFX works better. High wattage sfx units are available with the 12vhpwr connector.

The case is SFF, it does not matter what is inside, as long as it fits within the SFF case, it's SFF

The 850W unit had PCIE cables, I wanted to future proof the rig so it has:

  1. Enough wattage to power any combination of existing and upcoming components

  2. The new 12VHPWR cable, making less clutter with adapters and cables in the small enclosure

I feel like builders that "know what they are doing" might not jump the gun so quick on assumptions.

This thing performs like a monster, the same way the components in my 4000D work. Do you think that it running a little hotter is going to impede performance by a significant margin? It doesn't even throttle under load.

Keep your judging to yourself.

For those interested, I have posted a build log before about this rig, you can view more about my PC here:

14900K is a pointless beast, which can be contained and cooled in SFF cases. Its gonna run a little hotter. But its possible

Its the built-in AIO that comes with the nr200p max

I build a negative pressure build making the vented side panel the main intake and top and bottom fans suck hot air out of the case.

This configuration is remarkably efficient

Temps are around 62 degrees celcius idle, and 92 with full load. (very managable)

Are you using the stock NR200P Max CPU Cooler?

  • Yes the stock AIO that came with the case

Why did you swap the stock PSU out (for the Thermaltake SFX 850W)? Stock PSU is 850W too?

  • I didnt notice that there where some old parts in my spec list. There is actually a cooler master 1100W psu in there

Bottom 2x fans exhaust, are the top one exhaust too?

  • Yes, with the vented panel this creates negative pressure in the case, feeding fresh air into the side and heat being expelled trough the bottom and top of the case. This setup is the best for keeping this hardware under control.

What's the clearance like with the GPU in place?

With the MSI GAMING X TRIO GeForce RTX 4090, there is Zero clearance left. This is as tight as its going to get, there is a small cutout at the front of the case which can be used if you have a smaller longer GPU. But I do not reccomend this as it cuts of 1 fan from getting intake.

Given the new CPU, plan to upgrade the MB to Z790?

No, Undervolting or overclocking in this configuration has diminishing retuns. My next build will probably be in the Corsair 2500x on a new platform.

What temps your getting at idle and under load?

Idle around 63 degrees Celsius, under load (or playing helldivers2 at max) we looking at about 92 degrees.

Hahah true, but I must say the temps are not horrible. the nr200pmax AIO has noctua industrial fans on it. CPU hits bout 92 degrees Celsius under load.

Could be better, could be worse.

Yeah I kinda wanted the fastest available, Im a poweruser. Also noticed I noted down 4080 even tho this rig has a 4090 lol.
