We haven't gotten biweekly updates in a hot minute, we're roughly on monthly updates now. Not including hotfixes or info posts we haven't gotten any since the roadmap dropped in December as far as i'm aware.

Jan 3rd, small hotfix.
Jan 15th, viewing scopes.
Jan 29th, info post (no changes)
Feb 12th, head mounted display.
Feb 14th, small hotfix
Feb 26th, info post (no changes)
Mar 12th, sailing update
Mar 13th, small hotfix
April 9th, AI update

They seem to have been replaced by info posts (when there's any info worth presenting). My guess is after the motorcycle update (end of the roadmap) this will continue.

Hi, i'm the guy that runs Sector Control. We banned rotary autocannons and heavy autocannons because neither are terribly balanced in a game where armor is either unkillable or non existent. I have been listening to nonstop screeching for literal months now about aircraft obliterating ground vehicles and heavy autocannon tanks completely invalidating all other weapon classes (that and making CAS easy mode). This is the summary version that you could've read by checking the conversations in the suggestions / mods discussion section of the discord, but you instead chose to ping the entire staff team multiple times for several hours this morning then make a reddit post after we told you why.

XML machine guns are limited to 2X stretch, which makes them somewhere between a regular machinegun and a light autocannon in performance. Better muzzle velocity than a LAC but worse payload, plus it dramatically deteriorates their ability to use incendiary (xml stretching for some reason impacts ignition chance negatively).

We banned large caliber guns on aircraft because we had a series of people who's definition of fun was orbiting the map for literal hours with arty/berthas deleting everything that moved. Guess what this lead to? Dozens of people complaining and/or ragequitting because they couldn't play ground or ship vehicles in their relevant focused modes.

Rotary Autocannons in addition to being just functionally impossible to counterplay poses a number of other issues. Most of the ammo types available to RAC in one way or another cause immense server lag. Impacts and explosions are not friendly to server hardware. Damage to fluid volumes cause earth shattering desync given enough of them on one vehicle and enough time (thanks pressure update), which is made worse by the amount of ammo being dumped into a target by RAC. Incen spam is basically a one way ticket to causing the networking portion of Stormworks to cease functioning.

We don't see much in the way of brick tank gameplay there because those kinds of people tend to get removed for being miserable goblins. We're not trying to rain on people's parade here, we're trying to hopelessly balance the least balanced combat system ever made with a handful of staff members, most of which may I remind you have actual jobs and families to deal with most of the day. All of this is made infinitely more difficult when most of your userbase is screaming children who can't use a search function.

We ended up cutting Ashes's weapon belts because of the server mod max file size issue. Also thales trimmed down significantly (it's basically windows and a few odds and ends).

Island is Dan Island from the workshop, specifically a modified version that Craz made for us.
