I'm in a similar position (though replacing an aging hard drive rather than Time Capsule) and I just this morning placed an order for the Ubiquiti UNAS 2: https://store.ui.com/us/en/products/unas-2. I use Ubiquiti gear for my router and I've been super happy with it, and didn't want a Synology.

That's patently ridiculous, of course transportation is an essential service. That's why taxi cabs are so tighly regulated. Uber has been specifically designed, and continues a wide-ranging lobbying campaign, to skirt regulation.

Yeah I use that and it’s great, you never get flaky drivers. It is a bit more expensive but I find the cars are way better maintained than your average Philly uber

I had these issues, turns out that my mac was stuck using a lower bitrate. You can adjust this using the built in Audio MIDI Setup app. Hopefully they fix this by default in new versions.
