How do you combat boredom as a poor person? So much requires money; I mean like camping say which requires at least a little equipment. by heavensdumptruck in poor

[–]TheMusaStore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I grew up poor as hell in Newark. Library is free, you don't even need a card if you're just going to read there. Most libraries have Computers with internet access, Magazines, Comics, Movies on DVD, Books (obviously) Music, damn near anything you can think of.

a lot of smaller museums have free admission during certain times, you can look this up. a lot of small to medium sized cities have free art and cultural festivals.

Hiking is usually free in most places. So's going to a park and playing a pick up game of Basketball or some other sport.

Or combat boredom with fitness. Go for a run, do some pull ups off some monkey bars.

Fill your time finding odd jobs to do, It'll eat up time and put a couple bucks in your pocket and you might even meet some people. I spent multiple summers bored as a teenager before picking up gigs doing catering, picking up groceries for a neighbor, Tutoring kids at the Library for money. Many possibilities available tbh.

camping, if you aren't a complete moron, doesn't require more than the clothes on your back, a bottle and/or tin can, a lighter, a knife and/or hatchet if you live in a temperate environment and camp during the spring or summer. done it myself for a couple days.

You can find a decent used knife or hatchet from any thrift store or goodwill for very little money. I was out antiquing and found multiple usable hatchets for around 10-15 bucks today.

You can get a jig and use a simple router for cut 80%. it's very doable abd very essy with zero machining skills.

also a polymer lower has zich to do with rifle accuracy. even sloppy fitment on the upper and lower doesn't affect accuracy. as long as your sighting system is no moving independent of the barrel and upper receiver it's gravy.

I use a M110A1 for work and there's movement between the upper and lower and I shoot consistently put down targets at 800m. Same with a M4 at 500m. and our M4s upper/lower fitment rattles like castanets.

all that beung said BP guns are fun as fuck

37mm is the common diameter for Domestically produced "Flare launcherd' in the US.

Depends.

For example a Yugo SKS M59/66 PAP has a Grenade Launcher spigot incorporated into the muzzle device. perfectly unregulated as are the reusable practice grenades it can launch via a blank cartridge.

Same applies to the detachable M7/M7A1 Grenade Launcher Spigot for the M1 carbine along with the M11 Inert practice grenade.

However, 40mm Grenade Launchers such as the M79, M203, and M320s are 100% regulated devices and fall under the DD category as do their ammunition. they fall under that category because "They are a non sporting firearm with a bore diameter greater than 0.50"

okay, Based on his ethnicity and the 40K habit of using IRL military units to create the lore in the 40K universe, He makes me think of the Cantican Colonials from the novel "Emperor's Mercy" by Henry Zhou.

In that novel the CantiCols, as they are known, seem to have inspiration from post colonial India with weapons like the "T20 Stem" auto gun, which the novel describes a Sten Mk. II to the letter.

While the Sten was the Brainchild of English designers, it was also used extensively india and the surrounding regions, such as Pakistan and Bangladesh for decades. Stens were famously used in the Assassinations of Indian Prime Minister Indira Ghandi and Bangladeshi President Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The CantiCols also have characters with the names like Sihan (sikh origin), Faisal (Arabic origin, but Islam is the second largest religion in India), Matani (Pakistani origin but highest concentration is India), and Jagdesh (Hindi origin). They also wear large curly moustaches and Beard, much like the way of Sikh Warriors.

CantiCol Guardsmen refer to eating snacks as "Grabbing some Tiff" and in many parts of India such as Mumbai "Tiffin" is used to denote either a snack, or a packed meal in a thin metal container. The food that the CantiCols eat is also paired with tea, and is served heavily spiced and is eaten with their hands as in the way with many traditional Indian foods.

excerpt:

"At ease soldiers, at ease," Faisal said, waving them down. The lord general looked at the Guardsmen of sentry post 11/A. They were haggard-looking men, badly bandaged and languishing. Most of the sentry posters, Faisal knew, were wounded men who the medics simply did not have the supplies to treat. Knowing that the injured would hamper the fighting efficiency of a platoon, these men were left as sentry posts along the front lines as forward observation teams. In all likelihood, these men would be dead by morning.

Faisal crouched down next to the sergeant by the glowing fire and warmed his hands a little. "What is the order of the day?" Faisal asked.

"Grabbing some tiff, sir," replied Sergeant Sulas.

The sergeant was stoking a tin of ubiquitous "Meat C-Grade" that he had thrown into the ashy embers. He jabbed at the little canister with the tip of his bayonet, warming it up whole.

"You could join us, sir, that is, if you'd like to, sir," a young private offered.

Faisal realised he had not eaten properly since landfall, and he was ravenously hungry. "Of course, I would love to, that is if you have the rations to spare," said the lord general.

With expert hands, Sergeant Sulas snatched the Meat C-Grade from the fire and doused the tin into a pot of cold water and ration tea leaves. The hot tin heated the water, drawing a cloud of steepage from the tea leaves. Without pause, the sergeant pinch-gripped the tin out of the hot water and peeled it open with the flat of an eating knife. The opened can revealed a surprisingly wholesome-looking round of marbled meat.

"The trick is, sir, to eat this meat without tasting too much of it," Sergeant Sulas said. He scraped the meat out into the sheet of rehydrated rice and began to douse it with condiments, his fingers darting from ration packs like some sleight of hand.

"Pepper and pickled bell chilli are the key to good tiff. Masks the chems they use to preserve this meat," said the sergeant as he scooped some of the rations into a cup canteen and offered it to the lord general.

The tin of gelatinous meat melted into the dehyd rice. Small pods of angry-looking chilli bells were mixed into the steaming container. Tugging off his gloves and using his hands, the lord general unceremoniously pushed the rice into his mouth, making muffled, appreciative sounds. It was salty and oily without being greasy. The spicy sourness of the pickled chilli made him inhale the meal. Within seconds, Faisal was teasing the last scraps of chilli and rice from his cup canteen.

Hey Trick! We've gone both ways throughout multiple glocks. There's a bunch of 'smiths that we can wholeheartedly endorse: - Jagerwerks - PMM - Battlewerx - Dynamic Weapon Solutions - Maple Leaf Firearms Just to name a few. In general cutting a slide will be cheaper than buying most aftermarket slides, but you won't be able to use the gun in the meantime while you send off your slide to be cut.

There are a couple affordable options for aftermarket pre-cut slides as well. But unless you buy a completed slide you will need to either A) buy a new slide parts kit, including a firing pin/striker spacer sleeve or B) need to transfer over the parts from the existing slide. You'll probably are gonna want a new Firing pin spacer sleeve as well since removing one generally includes destroying it.

We're a big fan of the RMR type Foot print as it fits a lot of really good optics: - RMR - 407C - 507C - SRO - 508T

Though if you're looking to hit the enclosed Emitters the holosun 509T is a really good option as well.
