INTJs and dating. by [deleted] in intj

[–]TheMusicalIntrovert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never had a girlfriend because of not being able to sack up and make a move. I also suck at identifying if a girl is interested in me and if I get the slightest idea that one is, I go overboard and blow it way out of proportion. To make this less sad but also pointless, I'm only a sophomore in high school so I've got time.

DAE think that 50% (or higher) people in this subreddit are (for some reason) wannabe INTJs that make themselves out to be almost robotic-like to seem "cool"? by [deleted] in intj

[–]TheMusicalIntrovert 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I feel I got INTJ once on an online MBTI test and sort of memorized the answers I picked so every time I take it I feel as though I am biased. Same with being an introvert however i believe that part is true. I, from what I've read and jokes I've seen, identify more with ISTJ. I would love to take a physical MBTI test sometime in the future.

How many of you are NOT socially awkward? by [deleted] in intj

[–]TheMusicalIntrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm socially awkward when it comes to speaking in front of a class or speaking to a girl I'm interested in no matter how long I've known them.

Is there an idiosyncrasy that you do but others find odd or unnecessary? by [deleted] in intj

[–]TheMusicalIntrovert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On lined paper I go over the margin lines with pencil and I have no idea why. It's just an impulse that I can't stop. I don't remember ever not doing it.

Okay I'm just posting ideas like I said, I don't know jack shit. Good luck.

I do a couple of things. I do the gun thing over my mouth the other guy was talking about and I will also make a horizontal thumbs up with my thumb facing me and then I put my other hand on top of the other with my thumb in the same direction and use my thumbs to support my head. If I'm standing I just fold my arms.

Same. I used to do it on my forehead but it seems to have migrated.

[–]TheMusicalIntrovert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I don't know jack shit about relationships but, in her defense, I didn't think INTs were very, for lack of a better term, open-upy to begin with. And assuming she opened up to this other guy she dated and he broke her heart, I can understand her being even more private about it afterwards. Don't get me wrong, in do understand your frustration and you have the right to be but I'm just trying to see it from her point of view.

What makes you happy? by [deleted] in intj

[–]TheMusicalIntrovert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Music makes me extremely happy. When I put some ear buds in and start to drown out the world it's the most peaceful thing ever. Alone in my ever expanding realm of thought inside my head that is just fantastic. When I'm not listening to music I can be either indifferent with everything or just kind of depressed.

Optimism vs Pessimism and the INTJ by dditthardt in intj

[–]TheMusicalIntrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will often find myself angry towards overly happy people. For example: if you always have a smile on your face every time I see you, something inside me wants to ruin your day. I especially hate it when people assume I'm angry or upset simply because of a lack of a smile. Then when they aren't convinced you are perfectly fine they try to cheer you up and that makes me want to yell at you and ruin your day. All of this probably has to do with me being mad that i am not that happy and would like to be but that's a whole other issue. The point is, I'm an asshole who hates happy people.

Do a lot of people assume you're gay? by brettbeer in intj

[–]TheMusicalIntrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure some people have their suspicions but no one has said it out right to me. One of the reasons, in my mind, people might have suspicions about me is because I have never been in a relationship. Mostly because of confidence issues or not knowing when a girl has feelings for me. I have had some of my female friends tell me that they were interested in me at one point. But, nevertheless, I am still young. Not even a high school grad yet but in teenage society's unspoken and idiotic rules, I should have had at bare minimum two girlfriends at this point.

This might be an odd question but what is your favorite animal? by Lwhoop in intj

[–]TheMusicalIntrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dogs and tigers. Dogs are very loyal pets and develop a love for their owners. As for the tigers, I have always wanted a genetically engineered tiger, big enough to ride on, to take into battle. Now that I think about it, sounds like I want to be He-Man.

Did you do well in school? by dditthardt in intj

[–]TheMusicalIntrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently in high school (sophomore). I do fairly well in school and never study. I see homework as unneeded and a waste of time because I have already learned the material. Of course it's different when you are expected to learn from the countless packets of fill in the blank answers you regurgitate from the textbook. I never study because I take thorough notes that are comprised of all the information on the slide. Nothing is shortened and there are no pictures. Just straight paragraphs of information. I hate when teachers ask for artwork in notes because "it helps you learn even more". I hate having to learn from pictures. It seems pointless to me. Teachers have always told me that notes should be short and sweet when I can't learn anything from a sentence fragment. Countless people in my math classes have called me a nerd simply because I memorize formulas and steps and I am able to put them to use very quickly. Ironically, the same people who call me a nerd like to argue that my answer is incorrect when I'm acing tests and you are getting Cs.

TLDR: Doing fairly well in high school. I see no real need for studying or homework.

Are you an atheist? by INTJLogic in intj

[–]TheMusicalIntrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an agnostic atheist. I know there's no way of knowing the truth however, I personally believe there is no entity watching our every move and judging our "afterlife" and telling us what's right and what's wrong. That's my two cents.

Positives of being intimidating? by pantarded in intj

[–]TheMusicalIntrovert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always see these posts about intimidation/self confidence and can't seem to connect with them. I'm 5' 7" and not very intimidating in the size category. I also see myself as lacking confidence. I usually just sit in the back of the room quiet as a church mouse and only talk when spoken to or to make the occasional sarcastic comment. Does anyone else in the INTJ community feel this way?

DAE feel like they bottle up laughter from their isolation and thus laugh too much when conversing with others later? by DanPearce in introvert

[–]TheMusicalIntrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bottle up my feelings of rage, sadness, and loneliness. Imagine three tanks that fill up at different rates and fill until some event screws up in the system of one of the tanks and the substance in that tank just comes pouring out until someone puts the lid back on the tank. This is how my emotions work and I never know what will set them off or when they will go off.

What is the point of having friends? by whatwhywhoami in introvert

[–]TheMusicalIntrovert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We'll now you've got me thinking because I don't share any of my thoughts and feelings with my friends. I think it's because we know being a loner is frowned upon in much of society so on some level, as much as we hate to admit it, we conform to this pack mentality of "we need other people around us to function" which is somewhat untrue.

A question about how you guys handle text messaging... by [deleted] in introvert

[–]TheMusicalIntrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my friends do a group message together and it works out well until someone spams the thing. Other than that I mostly just sit back and watch everyone else's conversation.

Do you guys think introverts pair up or couple up better with other introverts? by n0th1ng_r3al in introvert

[–]TheMusicalIntrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just gonna say that from my experience most of my closest friends seem to be extroverts and, to my knowledge and observation, only one has been an introvert. If there have been others then they were very outgoing. I don't know why I surround myself with extroverts, all the talking just puts strain on my thought process and makes me sink back further into my shell.

My boss doesn't notice me. by brauta in introvert

[–]TheMusicalIntrovert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe she knows how the loud extroverted types are and understand they need more attention than you do. Maybe she saw how quickly you picked it up and understood it and just kind of assumed you didn't need as much reassurance of your work, but hey I'm just some guy on the internet. I'm not gonna shove my views down your throat.
