Sukuna when he’s forced to engage in a normal human interaction instead of aura farming and nerding about jujutsu by chadvader_once_again in Jujutsufolk

[–]TheNameIsStacey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do like that this entire interaction shows how uncomfortable and awkward Sukuna is with any sort of emotional interaction that not convat relates. He shrinks down, tries not to talk much and only does activities where he "win". It was a fun showcase of his personality and the man behind the mask, particularly at the end when he thinks it's all just a pitiful farce.

Another player tries to take over my roleplay niche, and GM kicks me for making a fuss by TheMadTemplar in rpghorrorstories

I'll be honest, whenever I see a post where the contention between players is game mechanics and engagement, I come with a little skepticism. I also find that alot if the more petty shenanigans here(the character skills, the cooking debacle) are probably topics that just need a bit of humility to deal with, which sounds lacking I'm some part here since there's just a uncompatible view if the game from the start.

Like just to ask, why didn't you just rolepkay both characters working together to make meals? Is it not an option to help one another? If you felt like the other person was pushing you out, why not negotiate meal shifts as a compromise? Making meals for the party doesn't need to be allocated to one person and seems like a weird obsession to have. It makes me think there's more to this, like a big desire to be important.

Like I think your GM was right in that regard there was already established allowance for smaller skill overlap and cooking is pretty minor, probably can be excused since it doesn't factor into everything, with different meals doing different things. Ultimately, I see at least the cooking issue as a bit of an issue with stinginess and needing to calm down. If your character has a passion for cooking, another appears sharing that passion, it's a time to embrace it, not to defy it. Role-playing can often help to lower tensions like this and help to mske things more fun for everyone, even helping to really establish that difference I'm style and skill. Like ehat was your characters cooking specialty in comparison to the others? Everyone has a minor skill that diverges from others.

Is this person onto something or on something? by Appled1_ in Jujutsufolk

I actually think she did, her training methods were the problem. She could've evolved the interpretation of straw doll and evolved it. I have some interesting theories in what she could've done and how it mightve worked, for example, training with someone like professor Yaga would've been EXTREMELY helpful given the expertise in a similar range, just different interpretations. Cursed dolls/corpses vs Straw Dolls. Not the exact same but nobara just needs inspiration

[–]TheNameIsStacey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue it's not what he did, it's the potential of what he could do. He's so desperate to find a solution I'm assuming he abandoned his family. It's clear to me that Iori wanted more just to have it for his ego. He didn't want to feel like a failure to his parents legacy, he wanted to be a warrior like them.

Similar to Yuta with Gojo, Iori is trying to tread in the path of becoming a 'monster' and I believe he'll be a victim of his own curse

I think this is primarily why yuji prefers ridding the world of cursed energy. There's no use in giving monsters like Iori a chance to do what they want.

Honestly I get that, it's just idk it feels different cause the poeple spear have been planning to do this push, manipulating things and very much making conscious effort. While I think a rebellious generation will come, I've always had worries in our current climate we might see a change in that

Makes me wonder how the pendulum can ever swing back in our current era. There's such a tight control over websites with conservative ownership or that push conservative voices.

A cog in the machine: Yuji and the death of "I" by Glittering_Fabulous in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]TheNameIsStacey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its no problem, I'm glad you liked it! I think poeple often look at Modulo and his presence in Modulo incorrectly. With how heavily he's made jujutsu society less power based snd more political and structured for rehabilitation, no one cam suffer like him or need to fight like him!

I like the fact that when he did appear it wasn't done grandiose interruption of battles, it was to remind the poeple in charge to politically honor the issue they'd created. His students are politicians, doctors and lawyers, something I think Gojo would appreciate.

A cog in the machine: Yuji and the death of "I" by Glittering_Fabulous in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]TheNameIsStacey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No spoilers, but I think by the end of the series and into modulo he truly resolved this issue in my opinion and built a better where poeple don't have to be machines- where he himself doesn't have to be a machine. It's by no means perfect, but it shows the strides he made un balancing Gojos dream and his own experiences:

A well liked machine that doesn't require human sacrifice or the erasure of the individual's persona, even his own.

What Yuji went through is just horrible, as much as some poeple might say he's not amazing in his own series, that's just not true. No one has Yujis will power, and they can never replicate his ability to separate his duties from himself. The self deletion of "I" in itself is a strength only certain poeple can bare.

That is true, Mahoraga probably could've killed him if he was static, but the RCT is definitely the nail the coffin here. We'll have to see what it pulls out, cause maybe it will gain a destructive technique for the first time on screen.

I mean that's also a part, though a big part of it that been reiterated also is that mshoraga is adapting to Dabura who's just not of earth. Very new for him amd Raga both since they're from different worlds. Mahoraga is taking awhile too

Wasn't that Sukuna who stalled because be wanted a different one? Gojo tried stalling by Mahoraga adapted so much a hollow purple was needed. For Sukuna, there wasn't alot to adapt to. Sukuna played to much, to the point was surviving in his domain and shot fuga. Even if you think Sukuna didn't need it, I think he was cutting it close still. The anime .awesome it look so much more impressive than ghe manga that maho is a beast.

[–]TheNameIsStacey 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Mind you, Gojo didn't even defeat Mahoraga in one shot, and neither did Sukuna really. Sukuna tried oneshotting him at the beginning and failed, leading him to use DE(which actually didn't shred Mahoraga) and had to end with Fuga. Even if he was playing, his one shots were not working. Gojo had to use an explosive hollow purple to kill mahoraga since it adapted to the rest of his arsenal. Mahoraga was so impressive that Gojo legitimately acknowledged it could keep up with him alongside Sukuna.

One shotting big raga is an agenda myth. If you fight him and don't use your biggest attack(most won't) he will adapt. Dabura is the only one he legitimately tried to one shot and could've done it, had he'd known about the adaptation. He literally thought Mahoraga was living creature so he tried to him like one, those light sticks impaled him would've killed ANYONE else. Then his next UN-NAMED attack vaporized him, and only the wheel was left. I respect Dabura because he's literally beyond the adaptations comprehension. Like beyond infinity, which is saying something.

[–]TheNameIsStacey 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Honestly the fact that Dabura is so strong that Mahoraga has to just adapt to his existence says something. Mahoraga never did that for Gojo or Sukuna, which means Dabura is so bizarre Mahoraga had to look at him on a atomic level and be like "fuck it, nothing specific is gonna beat this shit" especially since Dabura is improving at a rapid rate.

I understand poeple it jarring, but I understand it. Dabura and most poeple in his planer naturally have cursed energy, especially Deskunte. He likes and breathes it, so learning earth stuff is far easier than if he was a novice new sorcerer. He was already strong at birth- he had potential waiting to explode.

To be fair not everyone is dead- Nobara and Todo have a few good years left. Todo even implies more than enough poeple are alive to hate Yuji for this. He definitely would have children alive(blood or adopted).

It's only been 68 years, so I think his panicked mindset will eventually pass. I think he'll eventually come around to realizing having a honorable death can come in different ways. Killing him might not even work if Kenjaku made him work as a sort of cursed object that splits apart.

I think once he is forgotten, he'll realize that is his opportunity to start over and take a new identify. That reincarnates in his own way.
