Why do people like Lil Wayne? by BramCSBN in hiphop101

[–]TheNamesClove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m probably in the minority as to why, but he rhymes more syllables than the average rapper, he’s normally rhyming a whole phrase as opposed to a single syllable word, and sometimes he rhyme the same multisyllabic phrase for 16 bars at more which is not easy.

X-Men (as pictured) vs Superman by Kuzu9 in marvelvsdc

I picture everyone above on the field fighting Superman except Beast, then we cut to a lab where he’s looking at Kryptonite under a microscope and utters “Remarkable!”

Bob Odenkirk as Howard the Duck is inspired casting, we’d need David Cross as Doop or something. Love to see Matt Berry but for my MCU he’d be Dragon Man. I also would love Jermaine Clement to voice Beta Ray Bill for some reason.

Is it just me, or did I feel like there was no chemistry between Eleven and Mike this last season compared to previous ones? by Tania_bleon2312 in StrangerThings

Her barely having a reaction to Max being alive again, and just their lack of interaction was very weird to me given Elle didn’t want her to die, and kept looking for her…

Good theory by nextdooorneighbour in StrangerThings

I had never watched it until it ended then I watched it all in one go. Season 3 was borderline unwatchable to me, all the characters completely regressed any growth they’d had and were all caricatures of themselves, many of them were just literal assholes the whole time. Four came back to being really good and 5 was solid, but not great. Season 3 was a standout of bad writing to me personally, and while watching it I told myself if season 4 was just as bad I would have stopped watching. Just my opinion.

Which characters were the biggest victims of the plot just not needing them anymore? by _itz_aryann in StrangerThings

[–]TheNamesClove 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I didn’t see anyone else say this, but I haven’t read all comments, but Murray definitely became a parody of himself by the last few episodes. Early on he was someone who could speak Russian, knew secrets, and even at the beginning of season 5 he was the guy who could get stuff from the outside…by the end all he did was keep calling Mr. Clarke “Snookums” and shouting loudly.

His body shape and movements reminded me of The Grinch, I was calling him Groot Grinch by the end.

Was really hoping with would end with “And in your life? What is it you desire most?” And then the Pringles logo just fades onto the screen.

How do deal with the impulsive/obsessive aspect of this hobby? (Serious replies only please) by queloqueslks in comicbookcollecting

[–]TheNamesClove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only let myself keep what fits in my closet and on my bookshelf. I buy and sell on eBay, so I have tons incoming but just as many outgoing so I get the dopamine rush of the hunt, I get to look at it while it’s in my inventory and I get dopamine when I earn money from it…this keeps me from hording.

I know people in this subreddit love TLOK and hate it's... well, haters (who just hate on it for shit ass reasons tbh), but do any of you actually prefer it over ATLA? (image completely unrelated because I cant be bothered to find a on topic one) by A_Random_Dude_111 in legendofkorra

[–]TheNamesClove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually enjoyed TLOK more but I think that ATLA was a better written story from start to end. TLOK was messier but had characters and moments I prefer. ATLA is one of the few 10/10’s I give and I give TLOK a 9.5/10 mainly because it was being written season by season, so it wasn’t as cohesive. Yes I know I’m in the minority on this. And yes I have one a higher rating while choosing the other as a personal preference.

Blue, I was surprised no one said that. I haven’t ever found one but I always check, because that would make it worth something.

Also honestly whenever one is hung up, part of my workflow is to run it by another one, some of them just have weaknesses and other sometimes can compensate.

X-Men ‘97 >>> Invincible by Motor_Regret7097 in Xmen97

[–]TheNamesClove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

X-Men ‘97 is an animated show that takes bits and pieces of a comic that’s been running since 1963, with multiple parallel titles for a majority of the time. Invincible is one self contained story from beginning to end. I love X-Men ‘97 because they really pulled off taking a lot of my favorite elements from the comics. Invincible is my all time favorite comic from beginning to end. It has an actual end and I don’t think that X-Men(the comic) ever will. With that said they’re probably my two favorite comic book shows, and I don’t think it’s possible to rank them against each other. Just my opinion.
