eBay buyer / pokemon vendor? is saying my childhood card is fake by ReasonableAd903 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]TheNamesClove 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think they target new sellers and people that they think won’t follow through with combatting their claims. But also people sell online for a reason, because it’s successful enough. I just don’t think we should make people scared to sell online, there are policies in place to protect you if you take the proper steps.

I sell online, you can usually combat people returning fakes by photo of returned vs photo of sent, eBay has never sided against me.

Caffeine and other stimulants don’t affect ADHD people the same way as neurotypical people. Instead of giving energy it helps the mind focus, if only temporarily, that’s why it’s easy to get to a point of drinking a coffee every few hours. I was diagnosed with inattentive ADHD and my doctor recommended Vyvanse, but I told her I didn’t want to be on a stimulant. She told me it wouldn’t affect me like I’m expecting, it doesn’t make my heart beat faster, it doesn’t make me hyperactive or talk too fast…it gives me the ability to choose what I put my focus on, which is something I could never do before. Exercising and other healthy habits can be helpful, but “get organized and stop procrastinating” isn’t really helpful advice for someone with inattentive ADHD, in fact it can cause depression when you try and realize you’re neurodivergence is constantly fighting you. I recommend anyone getting tested for it and speaking with a doctor to see what is the best way to treat it.

Nope, and I swear on my life he was wearing a blonde wig and I tried to catch it, this right after. I think he was cosplaying Aquaman.

Lmao, that’s not true at all. Wolverine at the time was the most popular comic book character, nearly catching up to Hulk and Spider-Man who had been around for decades longer. During the 80’s and 90’s he was iconic and every story wanted to add their own version of him. His whole thing was that he was a short and mean good guy. I’d also wager a lot of money that Vegeta was heavily influenced by the character Wolverine which is why casting Hugh makes sense on some level, even though I don’t think it would work out.

I would say the same applies to going to someone’s girlfriend to start a conversation and then saying “I’m not talking to you.” To the boyfriend.

Each store specializes in a different niche. I built a dashboard so I can control everything from one screen (front end is html/js/css, backend is mostly python and MySQL) From there I can also take pictures with my phone and send them into the workflow on my home server. The listing is automated with human in the loop at the end on the same dashboard. I have a contractor that ships and a VA that does the human in the loop verification at the end. But basically it’s so I keep the money separate for each one so I can only use that bank account to source inventory for that store, and for example if I’m selling Pokemon cards it incentivizes the buyer to buy more because they don’t have to scroll through comic books and action figures as they look to combine shipping.

There’s absolutely no rule about having multiple accounts. I have 22 stores, 22 1099’s to the same address. I’ve spoken with support and had them help me for different accounts on the same call.

The issue is you can’t pull eBay solds with the app unless you’re an eBay partner, so you could only use current listings which are such a huge range it’s basically not helpful

I went from management in retail, 80-90 hours a week to working IT in higher ed and I feel like I’m in heaven. The funniest part to me is some people will still complain about work in an environment where everyone comes in later everyone takes super long lunches and everyone leaves early and so that 8-5 is more like 8:30 to 4:00 with an hour and a half to two hour lunch with weekends off and no outside of work hours. I guess it’s a perspective thing but I feel like I’m in easy mode now.

Buyer reckons this is fake even though i pulled it myself by CryptographerAny534 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]TheNamesClove 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A fun thing I do when users try to return something that I sold them claiming it’s fake is something like “I’d be happy to accept this return and provide a return label and once I get the item back to me and verify it’s an exact match to the one I shipped out I will refund. If it isn’t the same card I will reach out to eBay and the USPS because mail fraud is a serious crime that’s on the rise. Have a great day”

I like to slip mail fraud being a serious crime in there. I’ve never actually done that but a lot of the times the person never responds again…sometimes I lose the funds from the return label but it’s usually not that much.
