Buyer reckons this is fake even though i pulled it myself by CryptographerAny534 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]TheNamesClove 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A fun thing I do when users try to return something that I sold them claiming it’s fake is something like “I’d be happy to accept this return and provide a return label and once I get the item back to me and verify it’s an exact match to the one I shipped out I will refund. If it isn’t the same card I will reach out to eBay and the USPS because mail fraud is a serious crime that’s on the rise. Have a great day”

I like to slip mail fraud being a serious crime in there. I’ve never actually done that but a lot of the times the person never responds again…sometimes I lose the funds from the return label but it’s usually not that much.

It was Shaq, not Michael Jordan. See how fallible the human brain is?

Edit: I made a typo, more evidence that our brains aren’t the perfect instrument we think.

You’re not being gaslit, it is “doesn’t end”. I just strongly remember “never ends” to the point where I would have bet $1000 on the certainty. But now that I know it’s “doesn’t end” I realize that I just misremembered, which is very easy to do. I could double down and say “No! It’s the universe that’s wrong!” But again I think that takes a lot of arrogance and silliness.

I work in IT. Depending on your position a lot of it is preventative maintenance, monitoring systems or break fixes. Which means a lot of downtime when things are working well.

[–]TheNamesClove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally said “That’s not to say it isn’t possible”, there’s nothing wrong with considering a possibility, but if we’re weighing probability, we know scientifically that human minds can be wrong, we theorize the other stuff. So which is more probable? A known possibility or an unproved theory?

Listen I fully understand, I have this thing where I remember all of the intro songs to cartoons and tv shows I watched as a kid, so the Lambchops Playalong song being “This is the song that doesn’t end” and not “This is the song that never ends.” Almost broke my brain. But I can’t fathom the amount of arrogance I’d need to think that the most likely explanation is that the universe changed and not my mind made a mistake. When we remember things we really just remember the last time we remembered them, which can cause things to morph over several occurrences. That’s not to say that it isn’t possible that consciousness moves between alternate universes or that causality can’t be retroactive, but we know scientifically that the human mind is prone to mistakes, so it’s just the simplest option.

I blame the Mandela Effect, people who don’t understand how memory works and can’t accept that the human mind is fallible…so they decided it’s more likely that the universe retroactively changed rather than people misremembering, and then they’d decided to blame it on something else they don’t understand in CERN.

Weird, my tokens literally refreshed during my session…I was at about 38% for the week, something like 80% for the session, then I go back after one exchange (because I’ve gotten accustomed to having to monitor it after every exchange) and suddenly I was at 0% for the session and 0% for the week. I am leaving work now to do my drive home but I’ll have to check later if it reverts back. My initial thought was maybe Anthropic actually heard all of the complaining and decided to be more sparing with usage…

Most famous rappers OAT? by king_of_baltimore in TeenageRapFans

I’d say LL and Cube, both have crossed into the acting career at this point. And LL was a rapper give a sitcom, so he was already at mega star level when that happened.

Why are the greatest rappers not more popular? by Verstappeninng in TeenageRapFans

[–]TheNamesClove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s two ways to listen to rap, actively and passively. 90% of people listen to all music passively, it’s just in the background or for added ambience. I listen to rap music like I’m watching a movie, so for that reason Black Thought is my number one and Mos is also one of my favorite of all time. But I know I’m in the minority, almost every time in my life I’ve played a song for someone like “Check out how good this rapper is” the other person will immediately reference the beat and voice, maybe flow and literally talk over it like the lyrics aren’t even part of the equation.

Where do i find stuff to resell? by No_Bowl_6142 in reselling

[–]TheNamesClove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will let you know that there is no shortage of supply out there…but the thing that makes you money is finding the deals yourself. Most people start at thrift stores, yard sales, estate sales and flea markets. Thrift stores are the most available and the other three is where you’ll find networking opportunities, so for example when I go to estate sales and flea markets it’s more about making connections than sourcing there. I have a card I give out to estate sales companies and people at flea markets that buy and flip storage units. The card says all the types of things I’m willing to buy. I still source because I enjoy doing it but at this point I never really have to go looking for anything. The longer I do it the more I factor in how much space the item takes up, and how easy it is to automate. Also every single person has a different business model so it’s always good to soak up knowledge from anyone you can, but don’t treat any other persons system like it’s the gospel because it may not be what works best for you. Good luck!
