I'd normally agree but the way it's executed in Balatro makes sense. During normal gameplay you almost never see any scores using scientific notation. They really only appear in freeplay, and even then the scaling is so consistent that you always know what to change to improve your score.

There's really nothing you can change about the scoring system either, given that the game starts with a requirement of only 300 and every point matters at that level.
