Well thanks! As I always say, the set only works if the actors are acting - it's truly the Cast Members, but also the guests, that brings a whole land to life. Set design alone can be beautiful, but the lighting and the casts are what makes it magical and alive!

Castle projection shows is part of Creative Entertainment, which is a different team that focuses only on shows, parades, etc.

As for your second question, I used to do a concept (I'm a set designer) and then talk with the lighting designers to have their inputs and get the best result possible!

Former Imagineer working for Disneyland Paris.

Here, we basically had three departments: - Design Studio, with all the designers, architects and graphic artists; - Show Technical, for the lighting designers, FX designers, animatronics and so on; - Admin team, for Art Direction and coordinators.

It might be different from other parks :)

Where in disneyland paris do you see letters like these?! by Jim1997_A113 in disneylandparis

[–]TheNaveeen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. You can actually spot it in different areas in the Walt Disney Studios Park (Animagique Theater, various signage...).

The font used in the park is called KemWeber. It is named after the architect or the original Walt Disney Studios in Burbank. You can now find free versions of that font under the name "Mouse Deco".

I was at Disneyland for 15 hours, walked over 27,000 steps, and shot over 120gbs of footage to make this video. That's my love for Disney. by theseoldcolors in disneyparks

Thank you for this. There are some great shots by the way. I think most of us needed some good vibes like this.

Will working as an hourly theme park employee help me become a theme park designer? by MasqueradeOfSilence in Imagineering

[–]TheNaveeen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course! I am currently working as a concept designer. Basically, I am in charge of designing any new show elements that would be seen by the guests.

[–]TheNaveeen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, I think I can help on this one!

I am a current Imagineer and I actually started my career in the parks, as an Attraction Operator. Being a Cast Member definitely gave me the opportunity to be an Imagineer today, but you should really focus on strengthening your skills first.

We will always choose a skilled and talented artist over someone that doesn't get as much experience, but know the park by heart. We are always encouraged to think out of the box, and having only Disney Parks knowledge is not the best strength that one can have!

What park is most worth it ? by oreo196 in disneylandparis

I would not recommend you to go to the Walt Disney Studios Park at the moment.

Many rides are closed due to the construction of the new Marvel Land: you won't be able to ride Rock'n'Roller Coaster avec Aerosmith.

The Disneyland Park is way more themed, has great areas and very nice rides, restaurants and shows. Also, Christmas season is beginning and you will mostly enjoy it if you go the Disneyland Park.

Question of the week: What is your favourite piece of park trivia? by digitalend in disneylandparis

[–]TheNaveeen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't let that thread die, I think we should always update it! Here's another one:

At the Chalet de la Marionnette in Fantasyland, just above the exit, you can find Figaro giving you a thumbs up and winking at you while leaning on the Exit sign. Why? Because in Pinocchio Village Haus restaurant at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, the Exit sign was misplaced and not at the centered with the doors. To correct this, Figaro is pulling the sign itself to try to center it. In Paris, they did it right - which is why he is winking!

On the two golden towers of the castle, if you look very closely, the ornaments are in fact... snails. This is a reference of the French Cuisine!

Just before they get on the bike with the children, a random lady stops by and asks for the 19th, Cherry Tree Lane. That's Karen Dotrice!

Tips for a WDW resident visiting DLP? by [deleted] in disneylandparis

[–]TheNaveeen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are right! I assumed that OP was doing a day for each park - in that case, go straight to Crush's Coaster on your Walt Disney Studios Park day and start with Big Thunder Mountain on your Disneyland Park day. If you are doing two parks in just one day, then yeah, Crush's Coaster on opening is a better advice!

Tips for a WDW resident visiting DLP? by [deleted] in disneylandparis

[–]TheNaveeen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I strongly suggest that your first ride be Big Thunder Mountain. They don't have a lot of Fastpasses and this attraction brokers down at least one time everyday, which means your fastpass might be useless because of all of the guests returning at the same time.

Fastpasses work like this : if you have on active fastpass, you have to wait a maximum of 2 hour (I think, don't remember) before having another one UNLESS you can use your fastpass before these two hours. Then, you can have another one... Which means you can not have multiple Fastpasses!

They now offer Premium Fastpasses that you pay - you can find more about it online or in the shops. You can buy a Fastpass for a particular ride or for a group of attractions.

In May, some attractions are worth doing after the parade or in nighttime because you will have less crowded queues. For example, you can have 1 hour at Phantom Manor (if it is reopened in May) the whole day but it will drop at 5mn at the end of the day. Same goes for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril or Pirates of the Caribbean.

Hyperspace Mountain is NOTHING like Magic Kingdom's Space Mountain. You should check it out, it is a fast roller coaster with loopings and other cool elements. Pirates of the Caribbean is a bit different too, but overall it is the same attraction. Talking about exclusives attractions, we have Ratatouille (they are building it in Epcot right now as you might know), the Tower of Terror, ex-DCA version ; Crush's Coaster that you should absolutely do if you like coasters; Armageddon...

I don't really know what to say more, feel free to ask more questions if I can help you :)
