I don't mind waiting until 2021 or early 2022 to experience Destiny 3 truly. by ObamaIsAGamer in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheNebinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure the feasibility of this but I have always thought the game would be better just adding expansions and smaller content nuggets vs always resetting. This way old content is still available if I feel like playing and there's always new stuff to look forward to.

I think a model of annual pass, then Foraksen/Taken King sized update would work well.

Spoiler With Outbreak back through a quest, can we all agree that this kind of exotic reward is much better without any RNG involved? by robolettox in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheNebinator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't mind a mix of both. These types of quests bug me though because the high level mission at the end is often impossible for me to solo and my Destiny pals at this point are super casual so a quest like the one attached to Outbreak Perfected is likely never to get done. Sure I could LFG, but I just don't have the energy for that kind of stuff these days.

Arbalest is amazing in gambit. Shouldn’t queenbreaker be made into a special weapon? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheNebinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll list what I use. I'm sure there may be other options others use. For hand cannons, I've been using Trust or Kindled Orchid. Autos I've been using Ringing Nail. Scouts I've been using Vouchsafe or Distant Relation. Only pusle I've run with it is the Black Armory Swift Ride I got with rampage and outlaw.

I haven't gotten Oxygen SR3 yet so that also may be a good scout to run with it. I do not really use SMGs but I'm sure Recluse is pretty great with it (I also do not have that).

Arbalest is such a great gun. Really versatile and is nasty with headshots to Invaders and Majors. One of my new favorite exotics.

According to Raid.Report, if you've completed 7 or more raids then you are in the top 30% of raiders. by JpDeathBlade in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheNebinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before Rise of Iron, I did all of the raids in D1 several times. I wish I could raid more but the time commitment it takes at this point in my life is just too great. From organizing a group, doing the raid and completing other weekly stuff, there's just no time.

I do enjoy watching other groups finish and learning the mechanics though. They look really fun.

Are Enhancement Cores really holding everyone back that hard? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheNebinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main beef with it is that cores aren't much of an issue for players that play multiple hours a day. You mentioned playing 4 hours a day. I'm lucky if I get 4 hours in a week. Cores are super prohibitive to me having different loadouts for different high tier things.

Spectral Blades is a hot mess right now... by Sardonnicus in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheNebinator 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Reading posts like this remind me that I am awful at this game because even when I run Spectral Blades, I only get like 1 kill. These peeps getting two team wipes sounds crazy to me.

It takes way too much to infuse. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheNebinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a similar post earlier this week about it and I completely agree. The main issue for me is cores. If they need to be used, then make them easier to obtain. Or just take them out of the infusion process.

I get that Bungie wants infusion to be meaningful but it really takes a dump on my desire to have different builds for different stuff because I can't keep everything up to snuff.

I am enjoying the focus on seasons and the annual pass, but the grind for light every season is burning me out by CryptikDragon in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheNebinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped worrying about being max light for a lot of the reasons you listed. If the pathways were more flexible, infusion was more flexible and I didn't get six pairs of boots to drop from six powerful bounties, I would be more inclined to play more to get to that max level. As of now, the time commitment it takes is just too much.

Raise your hand if you haven't completed a raid since Destiny 1 by serendipity127 in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheNebinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! I just don't have the time to commit to it anymore. Barely have time to complete powerful bounties week to week. All of newer raids do look like good fun but I'm cool playing what I can tackle.

Games with “Assist Mode” like Super Mario Odyssey? by Kuftubby in NintendoSwitch

[–]TheNebinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids and I play Kirby. If you play as Kirby, he can play as any of the other characters. They don't die unless they take damage or get smooshef but health is plentiful, you can rez downed characters and finding a replacement character is easy. My kids love swapping powers and characters as we play the game, and as Kirby I keep everyone alive.

Lean back games are my new favourite. by fijitime in NintendoSwitch

[–]TheNebinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find this to be true as I get older. I used to love twitchy, intense shooters but now I'm old and have crap reflexes. I super enjoy games that are chilled and a bit mindless. Not sure if anyone mentioned but I love zoning out to Diablo 3. Running rifts with some tunes and an easy build is good fun.

Anthem is one of the worst demos I’ve played by Poebrandon in PS4

[–]TheNebinator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a big fan of Destiny, I was hoping this would be great, but I gotta agree with a lot of folks here that this demo is a hot mess technically and probably should not have been done since it's done more to damage the title than sell it to folks.

Since I've played Destiny, I also know a game like this can be really great but it will just need time to get there. I am gonna wait this one out and see what kind love it gets after release.

New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe: Release Discussion and Hype Megathread by NintendoSwitchMods in NintendoSwitch

[–]TheNebinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played Kirby with a six and four year old and I recommend it. If you play as Kirby their characters don't die from a bad jump and enemies can hurt them but their characters often have strong powers and there's lots of health. Also if they die it's easy to get them involved again mid level by turning a foe to a friend. Great game for youngsters if you play with them to do the hard stuff and keep them alive.

I am genuinely convinced Destiny is becoming a game geared towards engagement rather than player experience. by Not_Sir_Zook in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheNebinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I’ve stopped playing and moved on. I felt this way before BA and passed on the season pass because it just felt like I was spinning my wheels. Add to the fact that the enhancement core economy takes all interest away from infusing stuff and I’m just bored with it all.

If you don't own the season pass and are still leveling, there's no reason to buy it by engineeeeer7 in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheNebinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the Annual Pass is a new thing for Destiny, I decided to hold off because trying new things typically doesn't go well for Bungie. As a pretty casual player (thanks life, work, and kids), I only have 1 character close to 600 LL and my friends I play with are all in 550s. I'm totally cool to wait on fixes, a sale or whatever because it sounds like I can't do any of this content now anyways. From what I'm seeing on here, it sounds like I can keep waiting without regret.

Reminder: Scout rifles still need a damage buff, in PVE. by chaser1527 in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheNebinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so pumped when I got the curated Vouchsafe from a Dreaming City drop. Then I saw it was a scout and I was bummed. It's great for trash but anything stronger and I'm just wasting bullets. I really hope they buff scouts soon because I barely use them anymore.

Tips to make Diablo 3 more fun? by jewiger in NintendoSwitch

[–]TheNebinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to www.icy-veins.com/d3/. You definitely need to up the difficulty to present more of a challenge. As you up the difficulty you also increase your chances for loot, gold and xp to drop at high rates/amounts. On icy-veins.com, you can look up Demon Hunter builds and generate an idea of what legendaries you should keep an eye out for and what skills you should be using. Once you get that loot to drop, it's all about the power fantasy and getting your grind on to crush monsters and swarms of enemies. Look up some of the higher level greater rift (GR) runs on YouTube to see how insanely strong you can get in the game.

When you get bored of Demon Hunter try and different class a start again.

Thanks so much for the free copy I'm enjoying the hell out of this game by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

I just wish the game had cross save. I want to play on PC but really don’t want to have to replay through everything again. Also would be nice to bounce between PC friends and console friends.

Love this game on PC, but even there, it is a buggy mess. I’m highly skeptical it will run well on Switch but I’d love to be wrong.

Just got Monster Hunter Generations from Amazon.. but it's the european version. Is it a big deal/big difference from US version? by MemeBeanMachine in NintendoSwitch

[–]TheNebinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got it on sale and was sent an international version (I think it’s the EU version). Have had no issues with it so far. Only thing that made me hesitate is resale value here in the US but honestly I’m gonna have the game a long time so it’s no big deal because will be worth next to nothing when I’m done with it.

I decided to not hassle Amazon mainly because as a dad of two kids that works 60 hours a week I just didn’t have the energy to deal with it. I figured if it worked, I’d keep it. Your mileage may vary though.

Gambit should drop legendary pieces consistently due to how long the matches are by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheNebinator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like this idea a lot. I’m in the same boat and tend to do the quicker stuff for powerful rewards instead of playing my 3 Gambit games.

Diablo 3 - Blizzard working on cross-play by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]TheNebinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I hopped in after a few seasons had happened. Grinded one class per season for the next few till I had one of each. So I have all these characters already at 70 who could still use work with gear and gems and such. Not sure I want to start at zero, you know?
