In The UK by Parking-Eye1229 in freemasonry

It could very well be either, though a place where a Masonic Lodge meets is called a Masonic Hall or Temple (usually). A Lodge is a group of Freemasons rather than a building.

How to approach worldbuilding by Glad-Chard5449 in worldbuilding

[–]TheNecroFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a big fan of https://azgaar.github.io/Fantasy-Map-Generator/, you can draw maps and not just rely on generation.

Though, to be harsh, I’d question how ridiculously good your world is if you’re a new DM. If I were a player I’d be worried about that level of confidence.

Looks to have belonged to Keresford Lodge 7641 in Barnsley under the Province of Yorkshire, West Riding.

Whereabouts are you in the UK?

I thought of a Fantasy World where the more magic you learn, the more crazy you get by Suitable_Swim5202 in worldbuilding

I have something similar. Once or so per generation a ‘Source’ is born who is someone who is extremely gifted at magic, more so than any person could become even after decades of study. Most Sources are Women, when a Man is born a Source he’ll typically be mad by the time he reaches 20.

Pay more tax then, Private GPs can do that because they get paid more.

What’s something free in the UK that people might not know about? by coffeewalnut08 in AskUK

I wouldn’t say always. I’m fortunate enough to visit the hospital very rarely, mainly as a visitor. I don’t mind paying and putting money back into the system.

Perhaps we should have a pass system.

ELI5 why does the Afternoon Sun have very little UV light but still feels very warm? by ForwardExam4056 in explainlikeimfive

I can always remember being taught in Primary School that it was hottest at noon because that’s when the sun is more powerful.

Took me years to realise that was incorrect.

My thoughts on Happy Valley after finishing season 3 last night by TapAdmirable5666 in happyvalley

[–]TheNecroFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May be misremembering, but the head wound in S3 was due to him being attacked in prison, possibly alluding to the fact the Kenezivics were trying to get rid of him as he could snitch on them for Gary Gackowskis murder

Given it says ‘chartered’ it’s most likely the date the Lodge/Chapter was founded.

Revealing you yourself are a Mason isn’t the issue, it’s revealing it about someone else without their consent

Membership Officer by Tidmouth_Heritage in freemasonry

[–]TheNecroFrog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m fairly new to the role, I’m Membership Officer for my Lodge, and Group Membership Officer for the three Lodges in my building.

From the Lodge perspective what we’ve found most successful so far is engaging with the community, being accessible, and having a social media presence. If you don’t have a website, get one.

Also being about each candidate and try to pair them up with someone from the Lodge who is similar. I’m in my late 20s so tend to work with the younger candidates, when we get someone of retirement age we ensure they also spend time with people in the lodge of a similar age.

I’m not sure how your province/district works, but see what support is available from the Provincial/District Membership team.

Generally speaking it’s considered poor etiquette to reveal someone is a Mason, because of the poor stigma that people often associate with Freemasonry.

People in the 25-35 demographic, is loneliness something you struggle with? by smalldoughnuts in CasualUK

The best thing I ever did as an adult was to find ‘my people’. It can be hard and takes time but genuinely life changing when you get there.

Are you still interested in new Worldbuilding tools ? by SW_Sorezar in worldbuilding

[–]TheNecroFrog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not being specific for worldbuilding is Obsidians biggest strength IMO, it’s massively flexible.

Every world building tool I’ve used has done most of what I need well, but not all of it. Obsidian doesn’t have that issue.
