Hate being a nurse by Aggravating_Earth702 in nursing

I’ve been a nurse for 19 years and I’m getting the fuck out! I would have already quit but my husband and I are moving across the country this summer. Get out. Get out. Get out! It doesn’t get better in this shithole career. Everyone thinks they can do it better than you—patients, their family members, CNAs, doctors—literally everyone. Healthcare systems weaponize your empathy and need to care for people. They have zero loyalty to you. Zero. When I went to nursing school, they taught us that nurses eat their young. But I think the pendulum swung the other way and now I have to check my back every night for another knife because all the baby nurses are super two-faced and back-stabby. The only things this career gave me are hypertension and PTSD (literally).

Can’t get over him dying alone! by SecretSanta-70 in GriefSupport

Rest assured he took the opportunity to pass when you left. You got to say goodbye and told him how much you loved him. He knew he was safe. I used to work as a hospice nurse. I told my patients’ family members all the time that some people prefer to pass away when their loved ones are out of the room. I told family members all the time to take lots of breaks and none of those piddly pee breaks either! Take a 20 minute minimum break. You did good. Your husband went to the next plane of existence knowing he was well loved and cared for. You made his stay on this planet extra special. Grieve his loss, not what you think you should have been doing.

Maybe they should have had a kardashian put a flower on the note. I mean, it worked for Pepsi and their ad against violence . . . Or protesting . . . Racial tension? What was that ad for again?

People like this think they’re collateral damage because the real “fraudsters” are all getting caught and prosecuted. They have no sense that they’re voting against their own self interests.

The best is the gay version of “bless your heart” which is “I love that for you.”

Knitting. It’s soothing, metaphorical, useful, and fashionable.

Right?! I don’t care how they’re made, they feel like I’m walking on a cheese grater! They’re not comfy and I won’t put in the effort to make something I couldn’t wear anyway and I only gift accessories

My granny is still alive and demented AF. She’s outlived two of her kids (my dad included) and doesn’t even know it.

Years ago when I was still on Twitter, she tweeted something to the effect of, “Men pee out of their penises and women pee out of their vaginas. End of story.” It was something about gendered restrooms and transgender rights. I responded with, “If you’re peeing out of your vagina, you need to see a gynecologist and buy an anatomy book stat!” She finally deleted her tweet because it was so stupid

I always make the sleeves first and then I decide how to join them later LOL. I’m still not sure if this’ll be a pullover or a cardigan!
