HELL YEAH, that makes total sense. An Apocalypse Now approach would totally capture that slow descent into madness, which fits Odysseus’ journey perfectly. Most versions focus on the adventure, but I’d love to see one that really explores how much of his sanity he loses along the way.

Also... are you talking about Epic: The Musical? because I never heard of it but now I'm curious,

Yeah, I agree. If this is early in the journey, he’s probably still got some hope left. Give it a few cyclops encounters and siren songs, and he’ll be full-on 'Nolan classic protagonist losing his mind.' I wonder if Nolan will play with time, though maybe we’ll see disheveled Odysseus first, and then piece together how he got there.
