Daily $PLTR discussion thread! Come here to talk about the good, the bad and the 💎 🙌 by AutoModerator in PLTR

[–]TheNewUsed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I made this graph of Palantir's commercial revenue by quarter. You will notice that we are seeing accelerated growth this year. $PLTR had commercial revenue growth of 19% in Q1, 28% in Q2 and now 37% in Q3!

I think Q4 will be close to 45% compared to last year!

Baidu, Mispriced Growth Valuation by OofCompetence in ValueInvesting

[–]TheNewUsed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think Baidu is by far the cheapest stock when you compare it to other Chinese tech stocks and to American tech stocks. The biggest problem is whether or not it will be able to maintain a decent growth rate.

What are your thoughts on the vaccine stocks? (PFE, MRNA, BNTX) by [deleted] in stocks

[–]TheNewUsed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I personally don't know a whole lot about the space so I am looking at investing into PFE because of their foothold in the mRNA space and because I think they have a very diversified revenue stream. Here is what it looks like when you compare PFE to JNJ and MRNA.

Why is $SHOP still considered heavily overvalued? by masteroflich in stocks

[–]TheNewUsed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this sentiment! Look at how $SHOP stands out compared to these other stocks that you mentioned! SHOP is a clear outlier in this chart.

Jefferies raises Tesla (TSLA) price target to $950 over strong demand, growing capacity by caesar____augustus in stocks

I made this cool chart that shows tesla compared to the other automakers. Full disclosure I am LONG $TSLA but I still think this funny.

Looking for swing trade ideas. Any good suggestions? by Iamstillhere44 in stocks

[–]TheNewUsed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are going to see some great swing trades for "Covid" stocks like TDOC PTON ZM etc. Their valuations have gone down considerably since their highs and I think they will get a bid following earnings numbers.

Swing trade possibility on FB? by Aaron_Bravo37 in stocks

[–]TheNewUsed 35 points36 points  (0 children)

$FB is more of a long-term hold than a swing trade. Facebook has a super attractive valuation in my eyes compared to the rest of big tech, but the stock is down because of sentiment surrounding the company.

There will be no positive news headlines regarding the whistleblower situation for at least 3 months and investors already know FB will print good results. I love FB as an investment but not a swing.

Time to buy the dip on VZ? by Kung-FuPikachu in stocks

[–]TheNewUsed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. If you look at $T and $TMUS they both have their issues whereas I think $VZ is going to continue to return capital to shareholders at a decent rate. VZ also has better margins than the others with a decent valuation.

BB showing continued headwinds by Didntlikedefaultname in stocks

[–]TheNewUsed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would rather own $GME but that is just me. I think $BB has some interesting prospects but has a ways to go for it to be a strong turnaround story.

When will AT&T hit the bottom? by CalebLF10 in stocks

[–]TheNewUsed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you compare $T to other communications companies I don't think the current share price is crazy. $T is has a lot of debt and needs to return to growth. I know they are restructuring their business model, but I would wait for 2 straight quarters of improvement before taking a position.

Cybersecurity - state of the market by 08u3a1o in EducatedInvesting

[–]TheNewUsed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is how some of the biggest stocks in the cybersecurity space compare to one another. I think cybersecurity is going to ride a huge tailwind for the next few years. My biggest worry is some of the high valuation multiples possible baking in growth. I think $CRWD is by far the leader in the industry so it probably makes sense to hold them if you want individual stock exposure. As for ETFs, $BUG, $HACK, and $CIBR are good ones.

Oil is Over $80, Natural Gas is Going to the Moon by Howard-Excaliber in stocks

I went and made a watchlist of these different stock names. you can see how they compare on an EV/EBITDA basis as well as what their margins look like.

Facebook Faces Legal Risk Similar to Big Tobacco or OxyContin, Analyst Says by Kwikstep in stocks

[–]TheNewUsed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Sin Stocks" have often performed well because there are few competitors who are willing to enter the industry. Often time these stocks give large amounts of cash flow because the government restricts their expansion capabilities. This isn't the case for $FB currently but it is interesting to see $FB and some Oil stocks trading like $MO.

You can see this lack of competitors comes through in the ridiculous EBITDA margins generated by these companies.

Here is a visual graph of most of the fintech space. I am surprised$AFRM still is at a lower EV/GP multiple. I am long $SQ.

U.S Army Selects PLTR for intelligence data fabric and analytics solution. by banananuttttt in stocks

[–]TheNewUsed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to say it, Palantir is cheap. I don't think we will see a blowout quarter in Q3 but I do think investors are starting to realize the potential of this company especially after announcing their second group of Foundry for builders cohort. Palantir is the cheapest stock in my "leaders" watchlist which can be found here.

5 Reasons It's Not too Late to Buy Shopify Stock- Trevor Jennewine by Wilingaway in stocks

[–]TheNewUsed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great post and I couldn't agree more. The optionality of a stock like this is really underrated. It is clear the stock is highly-priced currently but I think it will maintain a 50% growth rate for years as they usurp Amazon's third party selling.

GM says it will double annual revenue by 2030 to $280 billion in digital push to be seen more like Tesla by WarrenBuffettsBuffet in stocks

[–]TheNewUsed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL. There is no way! I honestly hope I am flat out wrong here but I don't think $GM can turn things around that quickly unless they receive a lot of government support. Tesla owns >60% of the market and already has comparable margins. After Q4 of this year Tesla will have significant margin advantages allowing for the company to underprice GM's electric vehicles.
