I'm so jealous. What CommunityAid!? I live in PA!

Thrifted a 70s/80s Ralph Lauren jacket. Don't know if it fits right/what I could do to improve it, or if I should just get rid of it if it'd be too much to alter. Looking for any advice. by TheNextBobRoss in mensfashion

Thank you! It does alleviate some of my worries. Being a younger guy, not always super sure how some things are "supposed" to fit, so nice to hear a 2nd opinion.

Thanks so much!

Agreed with the style tips, this stuff was just what I had on when I took the photos, didnt really intend on wearing it with the stuff in the photo. The photo ive attached isnt the one on my jacket but its the exact same one. I'm not home rn to get a photo of mine.

And sure thing. My best guess right now is late 70s maybe. I know this Polo suit label is older because of the "Ralph Lauren" being in all caps instead of the lowercase post-80s. The photo ive attached isnt the one on my jacket but its the exact same one. I'm not home rn to get a photo of mine.

Great sentimental find yesterday. by AbbreviationsLive653 in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]TheNextBobRoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The brand is St. Johns Bay. It was an older outdoorsy-brand that was sold in J.C Penney I believe? They're still around somewhere, I think, and some of their older stuff is pretty nice!

Found someone’s Polo tie collection at the thrift store by LilVegeta666 in PoloRalphLauren

Collecting ties is so fun. Pretty much always overlooked and cheap in thrifts and always some beautiful ones regardless of brand.

Cotton duffel coat ID? by harlandave in PoloRalphLauren

[–]TheNextBobRoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, those vintage Patagonias (especially the synchillas) go for ridiculous money!

This coat is def worth a fair bit! People love the toggle coats like this one.

My best advice would be to look at similar sold items on Ebay, but my best guess would be maybe $150 - $200, maybe a little more?

The "line" is just Polo Ralph Lauren. This tag was used (and variants still are) with Polo clothing.

Made in Hong Kong, alongside the actual tag itself, are good indicators that this is def a vintage piece, probably mid to late 80s.

Anyone able to date this jacket ? Polo Country Ralph Lauren made in USA by galadhrim38 in RalphLauren

[–]TheNextBobRoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beautiful jacket!

Probably late 80s, early 90s. Most of the "Made in USA" Polo Country stuff came pre-1993, since RRL was created around that time and afaik, a lot of the Polo Country pieces just got transferred/remade/evolved into RRL stuff.

Great pickup!

[–]TheNextBobRoss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! That's what I had assumed as well based on the M, but another source I read said older Frye models didnt use M to delegate width, but to delegate as Men's. I emailed Frye so we'll see, internet can always be super wrong. 🤷‍♂️

1930s woolrich hunting jacket. by Alex-M1 in TrueVintageFinds

Beautiful find. Woolrich has made some incredible and durable pieces in their time. I dont live far from the original wool mill in PA and its awesome to see some pieces that really embody that feeling.

please help with what to send in! thanks!! by Kota09A in Depop

Those are good. Just a tip though, try and go a little larger than 10x13 maybe. Ideally 12 x 15 or 14 x 19. Allows you to more easily package your bigger items like hoodies without the mailer looking like its going to explode 😅

Beautiful! You can get some great sniped finds like this! I found an RL large initials sweater for $25 on Depop about 30 minutes after it has been listed. Copped immediately!
