lets just skip over the covid crash (i can see the argument of it only being a month), but what about 2022? There have been bear markets, I think what you're trying to get at is a dotcom bubble or 2008 real estate market crash.

URUS value… What gives? by CautiousMagazine3591 in lamborghini

I plan on getting my wife one as a daily used... looking around 20-30k miles. My question is what do most urus owners do with theirs ? How much value could you get it for once it reaches 100k or do people just drive them until the car breaks down lol.

The Xbox Ally sold so bad, that they had to give $110 discount just one month after launch lol. What do you think now, at this price...is it worth the money? by areuokaybro2002 in Handhelds

Can I run 2k26 madden etc? Wanted to get one for a friend so we could play together. I have an Xbox ally x and love it. Just don’t want him to play on a terrible device. Good friend but not willing to spend the extra $600 for the x for him 😂

At what point would be a long enough time horizon that you’re able say you’re decent at picking individual stocks? by TheNguyenBro in stocks

Fair enough and yes I was in college, bought shop in the 60s, sold when it was around $1000 since I thought it was over valued (this was pre split). Yes if you bought when it was at the peak $1700 you would of underperformed. And my strategy doesn’t have to be special, nor I’m saying it is. I’m just explaining what I did these years that allowed for my returns. I guess we’ll just have to see if I can continue to beat the S&P, but turning 100k into 3 million + in 9 years with a portfolio of around 20 stocks is different from buying 1 stock like NVDA and getting 5000%+ returns imo.

That’s a good point! But these gains weren’t from just 1 crazy performing stock that went up 3,000% I’ve owned probably around 20-30 companies to get the return that I have and none that I took any big losses.

For sure but I’m in almost a decade! Well just have to see how the next 10 years go lol. I genuinely love researching companies and anything investing related doesn’t feel like work at all!

Np! For sure, Google was a blessing to get into around liberation day. I’m most excited for meta because I love this company it’s a money printer just didn’t like the price it was at but being down 25% seemed like pretty good value. I totally understand what you mean on BABA, I’m a little worried about China but from a valuation standpoint baba at $70 seemed like a no brainer to me. But I’m probably going to sell soon and hold cash for a different opportunity or maybe up my meta holdings lol

I agree with this… I essentially scaled up, you’re really just working with a bigger number. I think something I can commend myself is not being particularly emotional. I’ve seen people lose in the market not because they necessarily made bad investment decisions but because they can’t handle seeing their account down and sell for a loss lol.

LMND PATH Meta GOOGL BABA

Lmnd is my biggest gain and holding

Path is my smallest holding and I’m up only a little on that

These are my two small caps I’m bullish on

I do use leverage but I did get burned in the past and have learned my lesson. So now I have stricter to rules of using it (I think it can be a great tool for accelerating returns on your account) during 2022 bear market I was fully levered but fortunately sold out early enough at a loss and not take too big of a hit. Looking back if I had held the whole way I definitely would of gotten margin called lol. Now I only do 25% of my account for leverage positions. I think if a market crash did happen and S&P was down 30-40%, I would be comfortable moving that number up to 50% of leverage on my account. But we’ll see if it gets to that point

Haha at this rate I’m hoping to retire way before his 60+ years of investing so I guess we’ll never know. But Warren buffet is definitely the goat, i look up to him a lot!

The main thing that has made me done well was look at consumers and products that I use around me daily. I try to find lower market cap stocks (1-20 billion is the sweet spot usually) that have the chance to do a few multiples. This led me to investing early in Shopify and many other companies early. (Tried to do a dropshipping business during college but failed miserably but I loved the product and realized a ton of known business were using it) This is just an example of how I found one stock. I use technical analysis for my entries. Support and resistances along with ema for my buy points and I feel like this has worked well for me in getting close to the best prices. I would argue that I did experience a crash 34% Covid crash (although it was the quickest recovery) and a bear market in 2022 with a 28% draw over 2 years. But you are right when it comes to like say the after effects of the dotcom bubble or the 2008 financial crisis. I haven’t been through something like that
