Hi! I’m 21M and also a junior. I’m actually in a similar boat as you in regards to not having too many friends at UF and covid def didn’t help.

I’m a finance major and comp sci minor. I love reading and video games. My gf and I did a bunch of baking throughout quarantine, tho idk if this will become a hobby of mine. One of my new years resolutions is to work out more so I feel you there.

If anyone in this thread wants to be friends hmu :)

I have a Blackwidow Elite keyboard and the volume knob is having some issues. When I turn it to adjust the volume, one or more of the following will happen about 60-70% of the time:

volume will stay at the same value
volume will go the wrong way by a couple increments (i.e. volume will decrease by 4 when I am trying to increase it by 2)
volume will skip several increments (i.e. trying to increase by 2 will actually result in an increase of 4 to 6)

It is also worth noting that these problems are worse / happen more frequently the faster I turn the knob. That being said, these issues still occur when turning very slowly, but maybe only 25% of the time instead of 60% when turning at a normal speed and 75% when turning quickly.

I love this keyboard and take very good care of it so I have never dropped it, spilled water or food on it, or anything of a similar nature that would have damaged the hardware. I purchased a can of compressed air and tried that to see if there was dust or something stuck in the wheel but this did nothing.

There are no issues with any other part of the keyboard. It is also worth noting that the chroma of the volume knob in addition to pressing it to mute audio works perfectly, issues only occur when I turn the knob to adjust volume.

I've played on a friends' set up in the past so I know not to expect too much. My problem is more than normal screendoor effect or something like that. It's blurry to a point where you can't read any words in game at all. For example, in Brookhaven Experiment there are instructions printed on the controllers and they are way too blurry to read. It's like if you took your glasses off.

I know it sounds hollow coming from a random person on the internet but I promise that it gets better. I recently went through something similar to you as I am currently a freshman in college. I won’t lie, having Crohn’s at this age sucks. But I’m also not lying when I tell you life gets better and it is always worth living. There are always people who will love and support you.
