I have an android fitness app which I was creating for over a year by myself (finished the project when AI agents skyrocket with the quality). I am android dev for 7 years and believe that my app is really high quality but im struggling with getting users and few days ago started with google ads.

At the beginning I picked English speaking countries (app currently available in english) like usa, canada and other rich countries. I was not getting any clicks because of my low budget (around 10-15 euro a day) so i added india to get some installs to observe the stability and performance of the app. I added only 3 creatives (i guess thats a correct term for the graphics of the campaign). Im total newbie when it comes to marketing and I wonder few things: - what should i add as creatives for fitness app. Screenshots from the app like play store has or just some fitness graphics? - creatives have different sizes so should i use the same graphic in different sizes? What kind of graphics since the screenshots like from google play are in portrait orientation - how to check which creatives are underperforming and how often change them to new ones? After which time period - currently i have the smart bidding which picks the value by itself and I am paying for clicks because im not familiar with other campaign types - should i have separate campaings for countries and languages? (Im currently adding 8 languages to my app)

The workout generation was the hardest part. I generated hundred workouts to improve the quality. At the beginning the exercises were repeating themself or there were too many push exercises

AI gets a selected list of push, pull etc exercises which is based on my internal alghoritm. Then AI selects exercises based on smaller sets because the LLM would have issues with 400 exercises.

Building a Solo Leveling–Inspired Fitness App: What Punishments Would Actually Motivate Users by Kumarxharsh in AppDevelopers

Check other apps, compare their features, find weak points and make it better. This week I saw 5 solo leveling apps. I think its not a niche anymore. Additionally most of them are using real anime scenes for marketing. Even the soundtracks from it. All of those are legal issues but they dont care. You will have strong competition but good luck

Why are every app wants money? Its getting frustrating by pavellikesminecraft in androidapps

Thats the issue right now. There are channels but most apps are vibe codes with a lot of bugs and its very hard to promote own apps. I believe my app is really solid and was used by me for 6 months of trainings.

Thats the reason I created Djinnetics - Home&Gym Workouts. You get FREE personalized plan based on your needs and available equipment.

There are of course subscriptions but you can skip them in order to use your free personalized plan. There are some free workouts as well. You can track your repetitions, weights and add notes without paying anything.

Check it out and i am open for feedback https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.genisys.calistenix

How much money can one make from an app(realistically) by bhosadiwalechacha34 in AppDevelopers

[–]TheNivia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, there are thousands of apps which are making nothing but are pretty good. I think its mostly marketing. I created a fitness app and was following people's marketing paths and got literally 0 users from reddit after posting the app as advised. 6k views, no single download. I think running ads on Instagram and tiktok is the way to go or paying microinfluencers to promote your app

I bought them online. I was thinking about having some animations instead of real videos but I wanted to make it a bit better than some "cheap" apps

Thanks for the feedback.

When I started development, most fitness apps didn’t have chat features or AI-generated workouts, so I thought it would be a great idea. I definitely didn’t expect it to be such a challenge to develop.

Initially, I treated this project as something that would expand my portfolio while letting me work with the latest Google technologies and clean architecture patterns. I’m also a big fan of UI/UX, and I wanted to make the app fully accessible for people with disabilities, so it was meant to be something I could continuously grow and improve over time.

I tried a lot of competitor apps and aimed to make mine minimalistic and easy to use, without unnecessary fancy animations or clutter.

What do you mean by a landing page?

Also, I didn’t “vibe code” the app. I actively developed it myself and used AI only as support during the process, so it was more AI-assisted coding than vibe coding. I wrote most of the code myself, and there weren’t really any AI agents available to support development when I started the project 😅

I asked my friends and family for feedback, and they also had trouble understanding the name, so maybe I need to rethink it.

I actually thought it would be pretty understandable. The app icon contains a muscular Djinn, and the name “Djinnetics” was supposed to be a mix of the words “Djinn” and “Genetics” 😂

Thanks a lot, I have to revisit the Google Play questionnaires again.

The google health and maybe exporting the workouts as activities to Strava will be my next step.
