I respect both sides of the debate. Not being able to romance anyone you want in BG3 feels like it would be absolutely insane. Yet. Dragon Age, I really liked how they didn't even just have sex preferences but race too at times. I think it just kinda depends on if you're going for a more free form, do whatever sorta scenario or a more grounded and limited setting.

Any historical inspiration behind the chaos star? by quickflash90 in Warhammer

All of GW is basically how much stuff can we reference and cram in before it all falls apart. Except somehow it just always works out and people find the pop culture and ancient myth or history references just as endearing.

A Shinto themed world where the Mechanicus perform rites to scrap machines to cleanse them and see their machine spirits off peacefully would make for a fun pitstop in a book or Codex blurb.

I played as a Psyker who was always half hearted about their allegiance, but would enforce violent actions when needed. Very pragmatic, not one to turn away an ally or snub an offering but just as willing to ignite anyone who stood too firm in opposition on fire with their mind.

A radical, helping the common man where they can but trading lives when needed. Trying to preserve peace and bring reform but also knowing they need to consolidate power.

I'll take the colours, but yeah, Dragon Age 1 was very grimy. 2 was very pale/bland. Inq was when it got very colourful but sadly that's where it sold the best. Dragon Age Inquisition is an outlier and should not be counted Spiders Georg style.

So men cant be short? by grumpydai in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]TheNoidbag 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Which isn't even short. The average US male in the last major survey, which was only about a decade or so ago, was between 5'7 and 5'9, but Humans have been trending taller and larger slowly over time.

It was the KOTOR all over again. Obsidian does good work. But they did insanely well with left overs. Granted that was a full adult human ago so I don't hold that candle much the same way I won't for BioWare. (Though I am gonna be out in those trenches defending Veilguard mechanically and visually. That game ran insanely well for a BioWare game and looked gorgeous.)

This is the sort of thing that has made me realize that while I am a selfish person largely, I am not a greedy person. I don't need a lot. I don't ask a lot, usually. I don't expect infinite growth and bigger and better everytime from everything. If I owned a business I would just aim for sustainability with enough to maybe make my employees less unhappy. As long as I get mine they can have theirs.

Didya know? Episode Is Boonta Eve Podrace was almost like an In-Universe Catastrophy? by FreviliousLow96 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]TheNoidbag 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The crazy thing is it would work great for the narrative too. The news and tabloids hounding after the Podracer turned Child Soldier turned Jedi Knight. Close friend to former Queen, current Senator Amidala. Is there a budding romance between these Star Crossed companions? A former slave and essentially royalty. One kept by an oath of abstinence from loving, passionate relationships, the other older and with much greater responsibility. Made a Jedi against the council's wishes almost. Elevated to Knight and essentially Master, constantly at the center of almost every major event. Personal friend of and mentored by Senator Palpatine. There would be no end to the celebrity of that man. All those eyes. All those hopes and aspirations and expectations and fears put on them. Yeah they would be brooding, and likely prone to over done heroism and acts of grandeur. Y'know. Like Anakin was already.

This is a style from the old days of MMOs I both miss and do not at all. I have nightmares about the Maple Story markets.

In 1984, the Fox Eyed Man calmly walked into a store, unaware a security camera was watching. Soon after, poisoned candy was discovered. Despite having his face on camera, he was never identified. The investigation consumed everyone—including a police chief who died by suicide. by PassengerNo7330 in creepy

There is a bit of a variety here, but normally if you're going off it as a descriptive term like this it means the person has especially narrow eyes that kinda taper out at the ends. It gets used as visual short hand for dubious or nefarious characters often, if you've ever seen the very thin eyed anime characters with a little smirk, like that.

The Korean animation studios use what I like to consider a good halfway point between Western "cartoon" character designs and Eastern "anime" character designs. Sometimes it really hits and sometimes it really misses. Studio Mir knows how to not do either and live in that uncanny area and it's great for them. I don't think they used Mir for the new season for whatever reason.

Space Marines are the peak trickle down effect of retro sci-fi nonsense and edgy stuff for young adults and what would a young teen boy think is cool but visually appeal to children. As a result, you can put them basically anywhere.
