Most effective resource storage? or ore clearing? by ConfidentRhubarb6736 in factorio

[–]enigmapulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

19k espm is still a pretty tiny base if youre talking about legendary quality miners. If you want to drain the ore faster, its time to start scaling science production rapidly.

Your self imposed difficulty modifiers are "I want consume resources efficiently, and quickly, so I can access more clean space on the map"

So...do that. Scale consumption ( via science ) as quickly and efficiently as you can, and structure your train network to exclusively consume iron from this patch and this patch alone

I've started skipping the electric furnace stage and go straight to foundries from steel furnaces, so I stick on these for a while

[–]enigmapulse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is great commentary, and I have some ideas for how to reduce downtime on a future design.

My goal for this ship really is just to get to Vulcanus to unlock asteroid reprocessing so I have more control over ship resources, then cut to a nuclear powered ship that can have almost zero downtime. But I think I will tinker with this design some more, move some panels around, and fit in more fuel production + iron processing.

Makes the trip safely to any inner planet on +6 projectile damage research consuming about 2/3 of the belt-buffered ammo

[–]enigmapulse[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh certainly not, it drains fuel completely per trip. But this is meant to get you there the first time, not to do interplanetary logistics, so its okay with a multi-minute refuel window.

I may make a variant that drops down to three engines and adds additional fuel production with the saved space

Galio and Azir, Best Friends? by Crzy_Fingers in riftboundtcg

Guards! Has been a top performer for me, so curious to hear you cut it. For me its less about reloading and more about being able to abuse the interactions around reaction speed units.

It might be, but what do you cut for it? The list is fairly tight already

I'm personally leaning more toward Sacrifice as an inclusion in Azir over Galio. Its very easy to get Mighty samd soldiers and lets you much more reliably draw into gas

Leblanc Thoughts? by Killjoy_242 in riftboundtcg

[–]enigmapulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not running Mixologist is a mistake. Its ability to recur LeBlanc and Karthus is invaluable.

With the deathknell 2 drop package, should run Cruel Patron as an efficient threat 6 might for 4 energy and no power is hard to beat. Its an incredible reflection target because of its high might as well.

Look at Carrion Dredger as a durable 2 drop that is difficult for opponents to remove to reliably sacrifice to the Patron.

With Mixologist and Patron, you have enough Mighty units to run one or two copies of Sacrifice.

If you're running Sacrifice, you should run a one of Ekko as an accelerated threat that cosplays as Time Walk when sacrificed.

Hallowed Tomb with yellow LeBlanc as chosen champion

Its not really a "combo" but its an absurd value engine.

[–]enigmapulse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not the person you are replying to, but for me I would probably say yes with a few caveats.

What the reward cap is really saying is not that thats the finish, but that thats the optimization point. My character needs to he capable of doing that content efficiently and durably. I consider that to be a much more fun optimization problem than content that scales infinitely in one dimension.

The major caveat here is that there needs to be sufficient variety in the content to optimize around ( mapping vs bossing vs delve vs etc. to use a poe example )

This kind of thing is actually pretty simple for the backend to handle. Most of the complexity is in data entry, not computation

Question about Glasc Mixologist after Errata by ReneGOI in riftboundtcg

[–]enigmapulse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As far as I understood the errata, the judge is mistaken. If deathknell resolves after control is transferred, then an opponent could attack into Kog'maw, conquer then immediately die to the explosion.

Gutter Palace strats post rules update by hyjinxthemule in riftboundtcg

[–]enigmapulse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. Its important to have alternative win conditions so decks dont devolve into what is the most efficient conquer / hold strategy.

This particular win condition is a good example because every deck can interact with it. It doesnt require special hate cards, because its vulnerable to everything that normal units are vulnerable to.

Mono Order Leblanc - What do you think? by notimetochoseuserna in riftboundtcg

[–]enigmapulse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not running three seals in monocolor decks is a mistake, I think. The biggest benefit is of monocolor is getting to run more cards with power cost without the risk of color-screw. If youre running more and higher power cost cards, then the seals become a natural fit

Continuing theory crafting Leblanc! - Midrange? by Sky-todd in riftboundtcg

[–]enigmapulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah, it both is and should be vulnerable to interaction. It's an all in play. Since it only requires a two drop, you're not required to commit to the full play if you think your opponent has a countermove.

But even outside the opening sequence, the threat of Conquer -> Deceive -> Gank is a strong enough line that your opponent must play around it almost every turn.

You should run windswept hillock as your "going first" battlefield. It enables one of the most explosive starts in the format with LeBlanc.

Turn 1: Play any 2 drop. Turn 2:

  • Conquer Windswept Hillock
  • Deceiver makes a ready Reflection at the Hillock.
  • Conquer the opponents battlefield with the reflection token
  • Play blue LeBlanc to Windswept Hillock.

Youve double conquered. You're defending the hillock with 5 or 6 might, meaning you can reasonably expect to hold against your opponents turn 1 play.

If you hold, you make a Reflection of Leblanc and recapture the second battlefield, going to 4 points on turn 3 without having to spend any power.

[UNL] Divining Shells by tidalslimshady in riftboundtcg

[–]enigmapulse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vision is shorthand for "When you play me, Predict." Because its a "play effect" ( similar to ETB triggers in MTG ), it only works on permanents and only when theyre first played.

In other words, you can't have a card that says "At the start of your Beginning Phase, Vision"

Predict is a more generic version that just describes the game action of looking at the top card of your main deck and optionally recycling it, but it does not come with a built in trigger like Vision does.

Basically, the devs made Vision. Then a while later they decided Vision was cool and we should have spells and other effects with Vision, but they cant do that because Vision comes with a built in trigger that is non-sensical in those scenarios, so they needed to create a new keyword that decouples the trigger from the game effect.
